We were shopping in Killarney when another shop keeper sent us to The Laurels Pub for lunch. It is located in the middle of the main shopping thoroughfare in Downtown, Killarney and 'looks' like your typical Irish Pub (shop front in Red/White) ... people were seen shooting photos of it often. Apparently popular with The Locals, this place has the same odor you can 'imagine' as 'Cheers' in Boston...it's well used..... really in need of a re-model. The older barkeep was jovial and helped make your visit 'memorable' (for more reasons then one). We had 2 salads, 1 chowder, 1 soup (but, charged twice) and a couple of Guinness & 1 cider= total 34.65euro.....that included a 4.40 euro "built-in tip" by double charging for the 1 soup. Sadly, went unchecked till this writing- worse- we left 3euro more as the real tip. Lucky as 'Filthy Rich Americans' (LOL) we could afford 'the sting'. This might be regular practice here as another woman ordered a pint, to my right, and once paying, returned to the bar to complain she was short changed. Shame as IF that is the program here, in an obvious Tourist Town, -The Word- WILL Get Out, eventually.
