Stayed here with friends obviously a huge difference between rooms in the old part and the new part of the hotel luckily we were in the new part in a Deluxe suite with the smallest bed in history, thank god for the huge couch in the fabulous living area, lovely room but velux window over the bed means direct sunlight from 5 am with no curtains. `````would stay here again but I would ask for a room with curtains next time.Reception staff very friendly and breakfast in the room was ok.

Stayed two nights after Bank Holiday weekend and enjoyed our stay. Staff very friendly and helpful, entertainment great, rooms spacious and very clean. Only complaint was the coffee at breakfast, cold, strong and made about four hours earlier - the instant packet in the room was far superior.

We stayed in Scotts over the bank holiday weekend, it was a last minute decision and we weren't sure what to expect. We were delighted to see that we had a lovely comfortable and stylish room. The entertainment at the hotel was great and we found all of the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast in bed on our first morning and it arrived on time and freshly cooked. It was a lovely feast that set us up for the day. We were sorry to have to leave on Monday and we will definately be making a return visit.

What a lovely hotel by far my favourite hotel in Kilarney and i have stayed in quite a few of the hotels, staff are lovely and very friendly emailed them the day before i arrived so that i could stay in there new rooms not a problem what so ever to them they emailed back straight away the next morning confirming that it was no problem,

My room was massive, double bed and 2 massive single beds bathroom was lovely bath and a serperate shower and a fab flat screen tv and even a door to to outside area to see out on the street

We got breakfast included which i do suggest doing as it is sit down as i hate buffet breakfast and the breakfast was yummy, also had dinner there one night and still cant complain very big portion sizes and not that dear 32.50 for a 4 course meal.

Scotts is close to everything in the centre of the town very handle for me as we arrived by bus and was only a 5 minute walk from the station

Would definatly recommend this hotel

Stayed here for 1 night in July 2009 with my wife and having requested one of the newer rooms based on feedback on TA, we were very happy with the room. There were a couple of things that soured the overall experience of the hotel but to be fair you are unlikely to be disappointed with the location or standard of the hotel.

The positives on this hotel are that it is very central in the town with a nice bar attached. The new rooms are well appointed and spacious. The majority of staff are friendly and approchable and the facility of an underground car park is excellent.

On the negative side I was surprised to hear that when I phoned the hotel to ask if it would be possible to get a newly refurbished room that I was told that it would cost an additional 25 euro (as it was a Saturday). This would be a total of 175 for the room. there is no mention of this on the website and rooms are listed at 150 euro. I mentioned that this compared with 130 euro on irelandhotels.com and asked if the hotel had a better offer than this. They didn't. The staff member was very polite and advised me to book on the cheaper website. If I rang them up the next day I could still upgrade for 25euro. To save myself some money, I put a request in the comments section and got a new room. I got the impression though that the hotel were chancing there arm to get a little bit extra.

The other negative was the breakfast service. This is from 8-10am which is a bit short on the weekend and a note in our room informed us that we should go for breakfast before 9.30am to avoid delays. Fair play to the management for advising us of the rush hour on breakfast but maybe if they took a more proactive approach and extended the breakfast time, they would avoid queues in the lobby. We waited for 10minutes and it was no problem but we could see people still waiting in the lobby to be seated for breakfast as we headed out at 10.45.

If i was staying in Killarney again I would book in here. It's not a 5 star hotel and it doesn't try to be. It's clean comfortable and central. Just shop around for a better price than the hotel website, request a newer room and go for breakfast after 8 and before 9.30! Enjoy
