Three couples traveling in Ireland for the first time stayed at The Malton in Killarney. It was fabulous. The staff were welcoming, helpful and a delight to talk to. One staff member even loaned one of our group their golf clubs. Food, especially the included Irish breakfast, was great. The fire in the bar area and the clam chowder were a repeated treat. All of us slept well in the comfortable beds. Two used the spa facilities and loved the experience. The Malton is located near the town shops, pubs and the National Park which is 26,000 acres of trails and natural beauty. All of us would go back.

We have just returned from a three night stay at the Malton Hotel in Killarney. We had a wonderful time in this comfortable, friendly and well situated hotel.
We travelled from Dublin by train which was a very enjoyable novelty! The hotel is literally 2 mins away from the station and just around the corner from the centre of Killarney. It was liberating not to have a car for a change!
The staff in the hotel are among the most helpful and friendliest we have ever come across. We needed to access a doctor upon our arrival and the concierge, Bjorn, went out of his way to help us, including driving us to the GP'S surgery in his own car. His follow on concern was very kind and appreciated
Upon our departure he walked with us to the station and helped with our luggage.
The food in the restaurant was excellent and the maitre d was extremely professional and accommodating. A new addition is the wine tasting bar which is great fun and interesting.
The decor in the hotel is delightful and our room was very comfortable
Killarney itself is a great town, everyone we met was very friendly and there are lots of great places to go for lunch.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, indeed it won't be too long before we make a return visit.

Stayed at "The Malton" in Killarney twice recently. First time as part of a golf group for 4 nights and the second time to celebrate my wife's 50th Birthday. On both occasions I found the staff of this property to be exceptional. It is clear that they have a very strong focus on the customer and they absolutely deliver superior customer service as a result. I might add, they also do this with sincerity which is something I especially appreciate.

The property itself is in a lovely and very convenient location right next to the railway station. It is a stylish hotel without being pretentious. The rooms are large and comfortable and modern. There is a Leisure Centre and Spa facilities. The restaurant is top class and food is superb (see separate review). The bar is comfortable and relaxed and offers music on weekends. The bar menu is really good and full of quality.

I suppose though, my overriding message is to tell you about the wonderful staff at this hotel It would be unfair to name any one person as they were all great ambassadors for "The Malton" and themselves.

Room Tip: All rooms are of a very good standard

Myself and my wife stayed at the Malton last weekend and we were really pleased we chose to stay there. It is in a fantastic location - literally a couple of minutes walk to the main area where all the bars and restaurants are. The interior of the hotel is lovely, very warm and welcoming, whilst still appearing modern. The rooms are excellent, really spacious. i found all the staff to be friendly and attentive. The leisure centre is well kitted out and has all the usual facilities, pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and gym. My wife had a massage and she thought it was great, as she is pregnant and they were able to offer a pregnancy friendly massage.
We didnt eat in the hotel as we wanted to walk into the town to eat so i cannot cooment on the food first hand. I did speak to 1 or 2 other guests who advised they had eaten in the hotel and that the food was of a high standard. We did eat breakfast there and the choice on offer was excelllent.
I cannot find fault with this hotel and will definatley be back to stay again the next time we visit killarney

Should you wish to enjoy a holiday in a hotel that offers genuinely friendly service in a setting with history and "olde worlde" charm, The Malton is the very place to be ! This hotel, originally one of the Great Southern Hotels associated with the era of steam train travel, is a building that retains its character and is immaculately preserved in its original state.
The professionalism of all its staff is complemented by a dedication to customer service which is evidenced in their close attention to the needs of the hotel clients.
The food is exceptionally varied and of excellent quality.
This is an excellent hotel, of good value, professionally run and dedicated to the customer.
One of the best hotels in which I have had the pleasure of staying.

Room Tip: try to get one of the recently upgraded rooms with a garden view.
