We had pre booked our stay at Shraheen House and was very much looking forward to our visit. We were not disappointed Maureen and John were excellent hosts. The room was very comfortable and so clean. Maureen advised on a tour of the Ring of Kerry which we very much enjoyed and places to eat. Superb breakfasts and home baking. Texted ahead to our brother and sister-in-law to tell them of this lovely house and lo and behold they stayed there the following day. Thank you both for a lovely couple of nights stay in your delightful home. Will certainly recommend to friends.

We stayed 2 nights in Killarney in 2 different B&B's and this one is the one to stay at. Maureen is so knowledgeable of the area and things to do. The place is within walking distance of town, but since it was raining we took our car in. It is hard to find a place to park so if the weather is nice, walk it.
Shraheen House is on the same side of town as Muckross house and gardens, so you dont have traffic to get there.

The only thing we organised was the plane and the rental car for our Ireland holiday.
During our two-week trip it was a surprise where to sleep the next night.
On our arrival in Killarney nearly every guesthouse was booked because
of the yearly horse rides.
We were referred to this address, after the welcome we decided instantly
to stay three nights.
We stayed in eight guesthouses, of which this one is absolutely our number one.
Maureen and John are aiming for excellence, and they are succesful in
every respect. The rooms, the breakfast (!!!!!!!!!), the lounge, everything is
perfect.
Thank you, Maureen and John, for a most agreable stay with yours.
Your B&B is most highly recommendable. Herewith.

This was my first trip to Ireland (my wife’s second), and we felt right at home. We loved the peaceful country setting and the clean, comfortable room. The location was very convenient for driving the Ring of Kerry. We highly recommend staying here!

In our 6 weeks of travel staying in 9 or 10 B & B's through the UK and Ireland this was not only the best we stayed in it was also the best value. Our room was large and spacious with a queen sized bed and 2 lounge chairs. The ensuite was of a good size and the breakfasts were fantastic. Everything about this place was good even down to the decor being of similar taste to my wifes. The location is convenient to the town centre (we had a car) and various tourist attractions in the area. I'm not sure why Shraheen House isn't number one on trip advisor but it should be. Thanks Maureen and John for a wonderfull stay. Expect a lot more people from Perth to stay with you because we'll be telling everyone how good you are

This was one of the 4 B&Bs we stayed in during our tour of Ireland in March 2013. Also the one we enjoyed and loved most! Rooms were beautifully furnished and the entire house was so cozy. Most importantly, it was SUPER clean and very well kept! My family of 4 enjoyed our 3 night stay here thoroughly and Mom even commented she wished she could stay here for a week. Breakfast every morning was nothing short of scrumptious, served on very pretty, delicate fine china.. we had to make sure not to knock over anything accidentally :) I'm guessing it's the owner's hobby of collecting fine china as the whole dining room was decorated with such pretty plates.

The house is a short 5min drive to town or less, and very convenient to Muckross and the Ring of Kerry. It's location is perfect if you're driving, though I won't be able to comment if you're not, since we had a car. Huge private parking area too :)

Maureen took great care of us and recommended lots of awesome dinner places in town. She would ask for our plans every morning and recommend something to look out for in the area we were visiting, which we really appreciated.

I have never written anything on tripadvisor before and this is the first review because my family and I felt that Shraheen House really deserves 5 stars! There is NOTHING we were unhappy about throughout our stay. You HAVE to stay here!

PS: Maureen also bakes a mean yoghurt cake for breakfast that I still think of today!

This house had one of the larger rooms I stayed in during my travels with my brother. It had a twin and a queen bed in the room but still felt like there was space. Since neither if us wanted to drive once we arrived, a walk into town was in store. The walk is easy but did take a bit of time. Despite the long walk, this was one of my favorite towns in the southern half of Ireland that we visited. The surrounding area has plenty to see and town offers a good selection and good nightlife!
