Mary Doyle is wonderful. Best breakfasts we had in all of Ireland. She's super helpful and great with people. The B&B is adjacent to Killarney National Park and within waling distance of the town center. Perfect location.

We stayed at Elyod House in February of 2013, we were the first guests of the season!
Mary was there to meet us and help us get settled, she could not have been nicer.
We walked to downtown Killarney in less than 10 minutes, I would say it was about 3/4 a mile. Totally easy and doable, there is only one turn to make!
The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The view of Killarney National Park from the windows was beautiful.
Breakfast was served by Darry, who was so friendly and great to talk to. The breakfast room was beautiful, and breakfast was great! I had the pancakes with berries and cream, and it was so yummy. You also could choose from a selection of fruit, toast, coffee, tea, etc. We placed our orders the night before with Mary.
We paid 30 Euros per person, and I would totally recommend that anyone stay at Elyod House for a lovely time!

My wife and I recently spent a few days sightseeing and hiking in Kerry and on the final night we stayed with Derry and Mary Doyle in Elyod House B & B. We didn't have any previous recommendation apart from the neighbouring B & B proprietor who was fully booked and suggested we try Elyod House. Thankfully, this was an excellent recommendation as Elyod House turned out to be a perfect choice for us. We immediately warmed to both Derry and Mary and they made us feel welcome from the first minute that we met them - I know this is part of their "job" but it just seemed so genuine that we felt as if we were old friends coming back for a visit. Anyway, what really made this particular visit so perfect for us was the amount of local information and advice that Derry gave us in relation to various sights which were worth seeing in the area - without this information we wouldn't have found half the things that we did end up seeing. Also, as it turned out, Derry is a keen mountaineer and we had a great conversation about climbing in the Macgillycuddy Reeks which was part of the reason that we were in Kerry in the first place. If we had gone through all the B & B's in Killarney and read all the reviews we wouldn't have ended up with anywhere more suitable for us. The fact that the room was spacious, warm and comfortable and that the breakfast was delicious was just a bonus - the icing on the cake, so to speak! We plan to go back to Killarney next year for another short break and Elyod House will be our first phone call for accommodation. Well done Derry and Mary and thanks for all your help - we wish you continued success and health in 2013.

My wife and I recently had an opportunity to spend a couple nights at Elyod House in Killarney, Ireland. We were truly fortunate. Mary Doyle met us at the door with a big smile on her face. She spent time speaking with us, then took us to our room. The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice view of the mountains behind the home. Mary was helpful with respect to advice on local restaurants / sites, and the breakfast was always delicious. Tea, coffee and cookies are available around the clock. If you have an opportunity to visit Killarney, stay at Elyod House -- you'll be glad you did ... and we'll be staying there on our next trip to the area!

Our last stop before leaving Ireland was to visit Killarney and there we found our pot of gold.
This charming family residence is what every visitor dreams of.
We were first greeted by a charming friendly hostess, who immediately we warmed to, and within minutes invited us to help ourselves to coffee and biscuits. A warm fire was burning which on a wet day is just what we needed.
The house is spacious and quiet and the attention to detail is what made it for us.The room we occupied was large, spotless, and tastefully decorated. The was an en ensuite bathroom with an amazing shower, coloured towels which meant you didn't have to keep checking that you were using the other persons towel. Not to forget the spa soap which was available with the push of a button. The dining room which was light and spacious, looked over a well tendered garden. The tables were set beautifully with fine linnen, and the breakfast menu seemed to go on forever.
If you want a relaxing family place to stay I can recommend this without reserve.
Unfortunately it was the end of our holiday. I can honestly say if we had begun our holiday here at this little bit of heaven we would not have moved on. Thank you Mary&Derry for making us so welcome. Kate & Margaret.

Room Tip: Space light, quiet and decor are important to me when choosing a room.

We enjoyed our recent stay at Elyod. Mary met us at the door and looked after us from that point on. It was hard to find fault in our stay. Rooms were of high quality. Sitting room with fire was a pleasure and breakfast was fantastic. Would go back again in a flash.

We have stayed in a lot of B&B's around the UK in the last 6 weeks and Elyod House is right up among the best. Great location, lovely friendly hosts, excellent breakfast and spotlessly clean. Our room was quiet and very comfortable. We were planning to move on but stayed a second night because the accommodation was so pleasant and above all top value for money.
