It is great to be home again, of course, but I continually remember the very warm hospitality and congenial atmosphere provided by you and your staff, Ciara. The meals were not only delicious, but also were served in a gracious setting. Everything about our stay at Woodlawn House was satisfying and comfortable. I miss all of you and would love to return. Thank you for your warmth, helpfulness, and competence.

Room Tip: Our room on the top floor had access to a secluded garden, deck and view of the rooftops of Killarne...

This historic B&B had a disaster back a year plus ago when pipes burst during a closed for the holiday period.
Taking that disaster to heart, the staff had the whole place totally remodeled. So it is a “NEW” place to stay with all the plumbing updated, comfortable beds, great showers, quiet rooms, and fresh paint, carpeting, and furniture,

As far as B&B’s that we have stayed in around the world, this home is absolutely in the top 10 for décor, cleanliness, convenience, and service. There is no musty smell which does pervade in some B&B’s in Europe.

Want to make a Bed and Breakfast service fall apart? Go with a large group and fill the inn, then all eat at the same time for breakfast and dinner, and you have the recipe for disaster. NOT HERE- the staff at Woodlawn, and especially manager Ciara Roche (who has a formal education in hotel management and experience as a hotel manager), were cordial and helpful and on time throughout a whole two-week stay. I love to see a staff that “smiles a lot and moves” and doesn’t waste motions nor time. Woodlawn House staff really moves! Since our group of 28 wanted to eat together, and arrangement was made for the Inn to feed us each night. We made our menu selections a day or so in advance, and really enjoyed the camaraderie. Everything worked wonderfully!

There is an earlier comment about the costs of breakfast. We arrived the day before the balance of the travel group and thought the breakfast was wonderful and very reasonably priced.

Location is wonderful with plenty of free parking, a pub just around the corner, entertainment in town and in other directions. Town is about a 10 minute walk to the main area with great shopping, restaurants, and sightseeing. We’d give it 5 ½ stars in the B&B category.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have a view. Third floor room has great views but another flight of steps. All r...

Woodlawn House is a great place to stay in Killarney. The staff were wonderful to all 26 of us, giving directions to shopping and pubs and serving great meals. The rooms were roomy, clean and comfortable. I know where I will stay the next trip to Ireland!

Room Tip: The Woodlawn House has rooms for two or for a family.

stayed at woodlawn house with a large group of family and friends and we all agreed that this is a very special place to stay. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful with great advice on restaurants pubs etc. All of our rooms were beautifully decorated with really comfy beds. The choice of breakfast each morning was fantastic. The location is really good as its only a short walk to the town. We visit killarney quiet often and will always stay in woodlawn house from now on. Thanks to ciara and all the girls -see u all again in December

I had mixed feelings about this place. On one hand, our room was quite nice, the location was within walking distance of the center of town, and the staff was friendly. We spent three weeks in Ireland and this guest house was the only one to provide an alarm clock. I didn't previously think that merited a mention but, in Ireland, I guess it does. They also have free car parking and a computer for use in the common room with free internet. On the other hand, there were things that really annoyed me. They take credit cards but charge a 2% fee which is NOT disclosed until you show up. I checked online and found this is legal in Europe but I find it to be ridiculously cheap on their part. They can't afford the fee charged by Mastercard or Visa so they inconvenience their guests by passing it along to them? Not cool. A sign in the room says bike hires are free but a sign in the lobby says they're 7.50 euro per day. The 7.50 was correct. Finally, we made reservations for the room only, not including breakfast, but ended up eating breakfast because we neglected to check our confirmation closely. This was our fault, obviously, but we felt someone could have verbally confirmed what we reserved when we checked in instead of pointing to the dining room and telling us the breakfast hours. The breakfast is good... but not anywhere near worth the 8.50 euro per person per day we were charged.
