We usually stay in the Brehon if we visit Killarney. The rooms are spacious and overall they are nicely decorated. Breakfast is nice although my preference is for table service for hot food instead of buffet, but that's just a personal thing for me! The hotel is just across the road from the lovely Muckross Park and a short ten minute walk into the town of Killarney. A good choice for killarney.

Arrived for some massage treatments. Was met by a breath taking reception area. Directed down to the Spa where we were treated like royalty. Spent two hours being pampered in the pool, sauna, steam room followed by a one hour long couples massage. Loved it and will definately be returning

I stayed for one night in August. This is a big hotel. Although we were too early for check in. The receptionist took our bags and delivered them to our room when it was ready. She then found us in the bar where we were having lunch to let us know. The rooms are spacious and we had a large balcony. Dinner was a relatively small fixed menu. However the food was nice. I would have preferred a bigger menu. There were 5 in our group and we were put on a table for 4 which wasn't ideal as we were a bit squashed. The restaurant was v busy so no other tables were available. Breakfast was nice with lots of choice. The hotel foyer is large and a nice area to chill out in. Overall, A lovely over night stay.

Such a beautiful hotel inside and out. Upon arrival, the staff greeted us promptly and heartily. They ensured our rooms were available immediately and had a cold drink on hand while we waited. The lobby, dining area, bathrooms and rooms are delightful. The hotel is clean and the food was very good. The scenery looking out of the hotel is magnificent. This is truly a wonderful place to stay.

Nice hotel. The waitstaff are very nice and friendly. We would have rated this hotel higher except the room was not as clean when we arrived as we would have expected. They were incredibly prompt to address the issue and we really appreciated that. The dining experience was okay. We were expecting a bit more given the price. The gym is tiny and instead we we're told to go next door to the Gleneagle. Our son has allergies and while they tried to accommodate, it wasn't what we would have expected. High priced...All around nice experience and nice hotel but mostly because the staff at the pub are so nice and attentive.

I don't think I need a title ,the hotel name speaks for it self. I was in Killarney for only a couple of days and we did all the usual things , visited Ross Castle and had a walk around Muckross House / Gardens and visited Muckross Franciscan Friary all wonderful and not to be missed. We had lunch in the restaurant at Muckross, although busy the staff were friendly and helpful . The place was clean and had a good selection of food on offer. A short drive took us back to The Brehon. We ate in the restaurant, the staff were attentive and show'd they had a good knowledge of the menu and their wine list. We had reserved a superior room which was well appointed , I had a problem with the bed thou. We informed the staff and once they fully understood what the problem was , we were upgraded to a family suite for the remainder of our stay. The second night we ate in a restaurant in the Main Street can't recall the name. We decided to stay an extra night at The Brehon it was so relaxing , and we really enjoyed the restaurant, the spa and of coarse are up grade. Before we left we had already decided to stay again this year for our wedding anniversary and we booked one of their suite this time we can't wait.

Room Tip: Check the Hotel own website, talk to the staff. The rooms at the front have wonderful views and the...

I really like the look of this hotel before I booked it for my husband and I and our 4 year old twins, so we booked 2 interconnecting rooms. On arrival they advised us the rooms weren't available and was upgraded to the Presidential Suite without even having to say anything. We were amazed when we arrived up to the top floor of the hotel to this gigantic suite. Double door entrance into the large hall, double doors into the very large sitting and dining area with tv, stereo, fridge, crystal vases, books, fireplace and an amazing side view of the mountains from the window. This then opened into a huge bedroom with 4 poster bed and 2 camp beds for the kids with tv etc, then also a massive bathroom with large jacuzzi bath, 2 sinks, shower and an amazing view of the mountains beyond. Also there was a dressing area with robes and slippers, dressing table and iron etc and another smaller bathroom with WC and sink. The kids loved it. We loved it and we were delighted to be going to back to our hotel every night (2 night stay).
We utilised the kids club over in the neighbouring gleneagle hotel.
The food in the bar was lovely and the decor of the hotel is amazing.
I would almost class it as 5 star. The service was great, spotless, great decor, great food and family friendly.
There is also a dedicated kids play room on the 1st floor with lots of toys, a tv and dvd player, bean bags books etc, I used to order food in the bar and while waiting bring the kids up to play in the play room then go down when it arrived. Handy tip!
I also used the thermal suite which was lovely and could have used the pool at glen eagle hotel too but didn't get a chance.
Thanks to The Brehon we had a lovely stay

Room Tip: We had the luxury of staying in the presential suite due to lack of room availability but if you ask...
