“A gem in the heart of Kerry”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

We stayed at Sika Lodge as it reopened for its second season. This boutique accommodation is really beautiful having been recently refurbished. The rooms were spacious and sparkling clean. The hosts were extremely friendly and went out of their way to recommend nice restaurants and local amenities. The B and B is less than five minutes from the National Park which has beautiful walks, as well as being close to Killarney town.
Serena's home cooking is amazing and she provided a variety of choices for breakfast. I would also recommend enquiring about the Fancy Pants Tea Party - a feast fit for the Queen of Hearts! Finally, I must say the showers have amazing pressure which I have not even experienced in some high-end hotels. Looking forward to staying here again on my next trip to Kerry.

Many thanks for such a lovely review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and we certainly hope that you return to us again. I am especially happy to be compared favourably to high end hotels with regards to our pressurized showers. Take care, Serena

Friends and I stayed at Sika Lodge recently and had a fantastic experience. The rooms were incredibly clean, big, bright and really comfortable - and the showers were the best I've used in a B&B, better than most hotels!

Alan and Serena were fantastic hosts, they were so helpful with great tips on restaurants and things to do in and around Killarney. From the time of booking right through to leaving after our stay, they could not have been more delightful to deal with.

We availed of the new Fancy Pants Tea party as we were a group of friends that had not seen each other in a while so it was a lovely way to spend an afternoon catching up. The spread was nothing short of AMAZING. We had smoked salmon, cakes of all sorts, chocolate covered strawberries, homemade ginger lemonade and some prosecco, we left the table absolutely stuffed!

And then there was the breakfast, it was delicious. Great choice and so tasty.

I would really recommend this B&B, I will be staying here again when I am back in Killarney!

We stayed here for one night in August and wished we could have stayed longer! We were driving around Ireland and this was one of 5 B&B's we visited. It was by far the best! Alan and Serena provided us with lots of suggestions for dinner and the rooms were wonderful. We were traveling with our twin two-yr-olds and the triple room was perfect for us. The room was the cleanest of all our stays and the water pressure and temp on the shower were perfect compared to other B&B's. The price was excellent. It was on par with all of our other B&B's but it was leaps and bounds above the others in comfort and quality. We want to visit Killarney again in the future just so we can stay here longer! The only suggestion, add a few children's movies to the DVD collection. We loved the DVDs you could borrow to watch in your room but we wanted to put in something for our children and couldn't find anything. If you're going to Killarney, stay here!!

The Sika Lodge was a luxury accommodation with the feel of an old Irish home. The rooms were newly renovated while still maintaining their original charm. The price for my stay was comparable to other places, but the Sika Lodge provided more for your money. The rooms were comfortable and clean and breakfast (cooked by Serena) was delicious! Both Serena and Alan were very kind and more than happy to offer advice on what to see and do in Killarney. I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice B&B. Updated, clean, and comfortable. Rooms with nice attention to detail with water, bathroom amenities and information. Serena and James were warm and gracious hosts and helpful with direction and selection.Breakfast was very good with more of a selection as compared to other B&B's (being served Irish breakfast at most B&B can be tiring after awhile). Wi-fi in rooms was a plus. 10-15 min walk to town but I think it is worth it. Would definitely stay again.

Great location, just a walk away from the town and great bars and restaurants. Hosts were very friendly and gave us good information on what to see and do in the area. The rooms were very well appointed and very clean. Breakfast was served in a very light and airy room and we were given a good selection of Irish products to choose from.
A great stay all round!
