Owner description: The traditional application of falconry has been to take a Bird of Prey, train it and then attempt to catch wild quarry with it. Although our guided walks with hawks experience, is not a hunting expedition, it is a leisurely stroll through the majestic settings of Killarney with falconer and hawk/or team of hawks and shows the ability of trained birds and their relationship with their human partners. The participants will have hands on experience with the hawks, you will be able to handle and fly the hawk yourselves under instruction from killarney falconry's falconers. We finish up with an owl encounter where you can handle & hold an owl. Private Hawk Walk Duration 1hr approx One Participant 70euro Two Participants 100euro Three Participants 130euro Family Package (2adults/2kidsU14)120euro Extra Participants/Spectators €30each, Times between 10am to 3.30pm Daily Weather permitting activity. Pre-booking avoids disappointment Locations for Hawk Walks may change due to conditions but normally 5/10mins drive from Killarney town centre Kind Regards Killarney Falconry Geoffrey 0872401551 / 00353872401551

Our family of 7 visited Ireland in August (2 parents, 2 grandparents, 2 teens, 1 child) and the overwhelming favourite activity of our 2 week trip was the Killarney Falconry and time spent with Geoffrey. We also met Texas (Harris' Hawk), Daisy (barn owl) and Scruff (barn owl) on our informative and interesting walk with our guide. My Mom (active bird watcher) was just thrilled with how much interaction there was with the birds and how well informed Geoffrey was on the topic. We all agreed he was just a wonderful fellow that was obviously "meant" to do this kind of work. I have to disagree with the one reviewer about communication with their business as it was rapid, seamless and easy for our family. We happened to notice an advertisement when driving through Killarney and I googled "Killarney Falconry" and sent an email (plus left a voicemail) on a Tuesday - we heard back the next day and were able to schedule an activity on Friday. I would recommend planning further ahead though and scheduling ASAP as it is obviously an activity gaining in popularity that appeals to people of all ages! Absolutely wonderful activity and one that our family enjoyed tremendously. Thank you Geoffrey, Texas, Daisy and Scruff!

Our family of seven (grandma, grandpa, mom, dad, son 16, son 14, daughter 10) had a wonderful walk with Geoffrey in July 2014. We had an easy time setting up a reservation, and when we arrived in Killarney Geoffrey's directions to our meeting place were spot on. We enjoyed spending time with "Arizona" the Harris hawk. Not only did we have the opportunity to hold this wonderful bird, Geoffrey talked non-stop about Harris hawks, owls, other birds of prey, the history of falconry, and his own collection of birds. We were all fascinated! It was fun, informative, and something that all three generations could share and enjoy. We would highly recommend taking the time to do a hawk walk with Killarney Falconry!!

Our afternoon walk with Killarney Falconry was the highlight of our 14 day group tour of Ireland. Excellent, quick communication via email with Geoffrey leading up to the walk. Our guide, John, answered all of our questions and we all could feel how much he cared for Scruffy, Elmo, and Buddy (2 owls and a hawk!). A once in a lifetime experience that will never be forgotten. Thank you Killarney Falconry!!

Took my sister for her birthday. We both had a brilliant time. We got to feed Texas (a harrows hawk) and learned all about him from the very knowledgeable falconer Geoffrey. And we met a very adorable owl 'Scruff'. The hawk Texas flew from tree to tree following us along and swooped on to our gloved hand. great experience
