Owner description: The traditional application of falconry has been to take a Bird of Prey, train it and then attempt to catch wild quarry with it. Although our guided walks with hawks experience, is not a hunting expedition, it is a leisurely stroll through the majestic settings of Killarney with falconer and hawk/or team of hawks and shows the ability of trained birds and their relationship with their human partners. The participants will have hands on experience with the hawks, you will be able to handle and fly the hawk yourselves under instruction from killarney falconry's falconers. We finish up with an owl encounter where you can handle & hold an owl. Private Hawk Walk Duration 1hr approx One Participant 70euro Two Participants 100euro Three Participants 130euro Family Package (2adults/2kidsU14)120euro Extra Participants/Spectators €30each, Times between 10am to 3.30pm Daily Weather permitting activity. This was the highlight of our stay in Killarney, can't recommend it enough. The hawk walk was superb, the hawk was so gentle, we both got to hold him loads and got lots of brilliant photos, which was encouraged by the guide - which was great! We also got to see a little barn owl which was a real treat. Again, cannot fault the experience, the service was great, we were given perfect directions with quick replies to emails, would definitely go again and highly highly recommend.

It took us an hour and a half to drive from Kinsale to Killarney but the trip was worth every minute. We were met by our guide, Geoffrey, who is a delightful fellow and our kids (7,9,13) immediately took to him. Geoffrey is a walking encyclopedia on birds of prey and he patiently answered the many questions our family asked him. These birds are remarkable and their hunting skills will leave you in awe of yet another incredible creation by Nature. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful experience with Killarney Falconry. A fascinating insight and up close and personal with beautiful and majestic birds. Wonderful and friendly guide - huge amount of information and just something you don't get the chance to do everyday. We were a family - children ranging from 16, 14, 13 down to twins of 9 and everyone was thrilled at the time we had. We knew it would be something unusual but the time, care and skill of our guide made it something entirely memorable for all the children and ourselves. Wouldn't normally bother to do any kind of web based review but this is so good - thoroughly recommend it

Geoff was brilliant and really great with the kids. Texas the Harris Hawk was spectacular and a real show man. We all really enjoyed ourselves. Not commercial, totally real and just an amazing experience. Very very highly recommended.

Wow! this was such an incredible experience! We loved every second of it!! Our guide was very knowledgeable and had great stories. We had a blast and learned a ton about the behavior or these birds. Do not miss out on this one-of-a-kind opportunity!
