Owner description: The traditional application of falconry has been to take a Bird of Prey, train it and then attempt to catch wild quarry with it. Although our guided walks with hawks experience, is not a hunting expedition, it is a leisurely stroll through the majestic settings of Killarney with falconer and hawk/or team of hawks and shows the ability of trained birds and their relationship with their human partners. The participants will have hands on experience with the hawks, you will be able to handle and fly the hawk yourselves under instruction from killarney falconry's falconers. We finish up with an owl encounter where you can handle & hold an owl. Private Hawk Walk Duration 1hr approx One Participant 70euro Two Participants 100euro Three Participants 130euro Family Package (2adults/2kidsU14)120euro Extra Participants/Spectators €30each, Times between 10am to 3.30pm Daily Weather permitting activity. “An awesome experience”

Geoff was brilliant and really great with the kids. Texas the Harris Hawk was spectacular and a real show man. We all really enjoyed ourselves. Not commercial, totally real and just an amazing experience. Very very highly recommended.

“The most unique experience we had in Ireland!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2014

Wow! this was such an incredible experience! We loved every second of it!! Our guide was very knowledgeable and had great stories. We had a blast and learned a ton about the behavior or these birds. Do not miss out on this one-of-a-kind opportunity!

“Amazing walk in the woods with a falconer and trained hawk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

Our family really enjoyed this unique experience. We slowly walked through some beautiful woods with just our family (3 kids 13, 16 and 20), the falconer and his Harris hawk in the light rain under the trees. Everyone got to wear the glove and feed the hawk when he landed on our wrists, before flying off up to a tree branch. The falconer was a great guide, relaxed and knowledgeable. We were late arriving, due to traffic, but coordinated on the cell phone with no problem for a very nice afternoon. After the walk we also got to meet a snowy owl and a barn owl.

“So much fun!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

The owners are very quick to respond to emails and answer any and all questions.
I was delighted with our hike - I was unsure if I had signed up to be in a large group, but it was just the 4 of us. Which gave everyone plenty of chances to hold and feed Tex and move at our own pace. Our guide was pleasant and laid back. It was a really neat experience. Would definitely recommend to someone looking for a little adventure in Ireland.

“really worth the trip for all family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2013

Learned about this from hotel brochure and read some wonderful reviews here and so we could not resist. While the weather was not in our favour we were well protected as we went through the woods. Each wearing gloves, we got lots of opportunities to feed the falcon called Arry, wonderful phots and a really knowledgeable guide. We also on our return from the walk were treated to a lovely show of the snowy owl. So soft, inquisitive, and beautiful creatures. Really worth it for all animal lovers and inspiring
