Owner description: The traditional application of falconry has been to take a Bird of Prey, train it and then attempt to catch wild quarry with it. Although our guided walks with hawks experience, is not a hunting expedition, it is a leisurely stroll through the majestic settings of Killarney with falconer and hawk/or team of hawks and shows the ability of trained birds and their relationship with their human partners. The participants will have hands on experience with the hawks, you will be able to handle and fly the hawk yourselves under instruction from killarney falconry's falconers. We finish up with an owl encounter where you can handle & hold an owl. Private Hawk Walk Duration 1hr approx One Participant 70euro Two Participants 100euro Three Participants 130euro Family Package (2adults/2kidsU14)120euro Extra Participants/Spectators €30each, Times between 10am to 3.30pm Daily Weather permitting activity. The owners are very quick to respond to emails and answer any and all questions.
I was delighted with our hike - I was unsure if I had signed up to be in a large group, but it was just the 4 of us. Which gave everyone plenty of chances to hold and feed Tex and move at our own pace. Our guide was pleasant and laid back. It was a really neat experience. Would definitely recommend to someone looking for a little adventure in Ireland.

Learned about this from hotel brochure and read some wonderful reviews here and so we could not resist. While the weather was not in our favour we were well protected as we went through the woods. Each wearing gloves, we got lots of opportunities to feed the falcon called Arry, wonderful phots and a really knowledgeable guide. We also on our return from the walk were treated to a lovely show of the snowy owl. So soft, inquisitive, and beautiful creatures. Really worth it for all animal lovers and inspiring

We were lucky enough to find this Hawk Walk through our hotel – Sheen Falls Lodge in Kenmare. Jeffrey was delightful and obviously truly loves his birds, and loves teaching people about them. He brought his beautiful hawk Arizona on our walk and we loved him! We also got to pet and hold a lovely little owl. My teenage daughter is actually a bit afraid of birds but had a lovely time on the walk and allowed Arizona to perch on her arm multiple times. Jeffrey made us all feel very comfortable and have a much better appreciation for the birds and their abilities.

Definitely one of the highlights of our time in Ireland. Our "guide" John, was knowledgable, conversational and pleasant. It was just my husband and I so the setting was peaceful - highly recommend!
