“A trip to remember!”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

Arrived at Dromhall on December 3rd in preparation for a wedding being held on the 7th. From the minute I arrived I experienced nothing but the finest service. Collette, the front desk women, had anticipated my arrival and had started the process for me, a welcome treat after flying in from Boston and traveling in a bus to reach the hotel I was very tired and just wanted to sleep. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean and efficient. Breakfast in the morning was more than I had anticipated, cooked to order. Wonderful hot coffee and plenty of pots of tea. The pub, Kaynes, provided great food, drink and locals for a great time. The staff throughout the hotel were excellant. Special thanks to Mike, who went the extra mile trying to teach my brother a little Gaelic, John, the overnight attendant, who was always gracious when dealing with our behavior late night, Brendan, who was always visible in the dining room and my favorite Barry, who wore many hats. Thanks, Ellen Johnson

Once again we had our annual Christmas party in the Dromhall Hotel and we were not disappointed. This year instead of the usual party night, we had dinner in Kayne's Bistro and then enjoyed a few drinks in the bar. The menu was excellent with a great selection of dishes. The quality of the food was superb and we all had a really great night. We stayed in the hotel which is clean and cosy.
All being well we will be back in Dec 2014.

Dear Mairin1

Thank you so much for posting a review, following your recent Christmas party with us in Kayne's Bar & Bistro. I'm delighted that you all enjoyed a great night and we would like to thank you for choosing us once again for your Christmas celebrations. We've received great feedback about our party nights, both in the hotel and in Kayne's, which is rewarding for our hard working team here.

Kayne's Bar & Bistro also has a presence on Trip Advisor under Restaurants, so you would be very welcome to leave a review there too if you'd like to.

Thank you again - and we hope to be able to welcome you all back again next year.

Kind regards

We have stayed in this hotel before and returned again in Dec. 2013 for a weekend break.
There was no delay in checking in. Our rooms were very comfortable, clean and extremely warm so had to turn the radiators off and nicely decorated no complaints about the beds either. Good sized bathroom. The breakfast menu had lots of choices including fish, pancakes and smoothies. After eating in the bar on the first night of our stay we decided to eat there again on the second night . The food is great. All the staff were very pleasant especially the bar man who was from Prague (sorry can't remember his name). The music was great, two fab musicians on box and guitar. This hotel is only ten minutes or less walk from town centre. Would definately return and would recommend this hotel for a great stay.

Room Tip: The noise from the boiler can be heard at night from rooms 103 and 105

We only had a short time at Dromhall Hotel 1 and a half days but I'm pretty sure we made the most of it. Upon arrival they had confused our booking but were super nice in conviently and swiftly retifying the mistake. All staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Rooms were clean and had everything you needed. Breakfast was delicious. It was in a great location, easy accesible to the town and motorways. Our favourite part was the decor of the hotel we thoroughly enjoyed running back in the evening after a long day and lounging about. Would definitelty recommend and hopefully return some day!

Dear NaadC

Thank you for taking the time to post a review following your visit. I was delighted to read how much you enjoyed your brief stay with us. As a family-run and operated hotel, I was particularly pleased to read that you liked the décor and ambience of our hotel.

We place great importance on our friendly and efficient staff and of course on the standard of our food, so it was very rewarding to read your feedback on these 2 important areas.

I hope you may be able to come and stay with us again - perhaps for a little longer next time!

Kind regards

Stayed two nights as part of a tour. Hotel was the best of the lot from that tour and would stay here on our own should we come back. It is approximately a 10 minute stroll from the main street. Room 109.

Lobby area provides a great first impression upon arrival. Step through and first thing that catches the eye is the grand stairway to the 1st floor. Nice fireplace and well appointed decor. Gives sense of stepping back into a more genteel era.

Room was good size, clean, twin bed plus a single with ample space. Great shower and provides bath amenities (shampoo and the like).

Downside is the hard pillows.

Free Wi-Fi, available in rooms. No special code needed.

Breakfast for tours was a sit/down and order rather than buffet (toast, juice and cereals were available self-serve). Tour groups are assigned seating times to control crowds.

Hotel was decorated for the Christmas holiday adding to the ambiance.

Staff was efficient, not overtly outgoing or friendly.

Dear chatdad

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of our hotel, following your recent visit. I was delighted to read that you deemed our hotel the best from your tour and that you enjoyed some of our unique characteristics. I'm sorry though that you found our pillows to be too hard - it's difficult to cater for everyone's individual taste when it comes to pillows but it's unfortunate that you didn't mention it to us during your stay as we would have done our best to find an alternative for you.

I was also pleased to read that you enjoyed your breakfasts with us and the attention of our staff, together with the convenient location of our hotel.

We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to The Dromhall Hotel sometime in the future.

Great older hotel! Superb customer service, excellent food. Within walking distance of the central city! We were able to take a jaunting car ride from the hotel to the castle & park... The only negative was that the wireless internet was on the blink; everything else was splendid!

We arrive at the hotel via a Jaunty Car (horse drawn carriage). Our bag were already stored in our room. They had a nice stair case to walk up to the rooms ( there was an elevator, but we never took it)

Five - six minute walk to downtown.

They had a spa and pool but we did not use.
