Just back from visting Coolwood ,The kids enjoyed the experience,me not so much. All the enclosures were shabby, some were really smelly. The playground was terrible. The coffee shop looked disgusting. Only happy animal was Harry the lemur who was free to roam the entire area.

Very dirty and smelly, rabbit and guinea pig runs full of rotten fruit and veg, even raw potatoes, these are toxic to small animals, oviously no thought as to what they can and can't eat, just what the owners get reduced in tesco, saw a wheelbarrow of the stuff on the way out, must be a haven for rats.saw 3 sick rabbits, with snuffles, racoons showing ovious signs of boredom and stress, pacing up and down, very depressing place

I visited Coolwood Park recently on foot of negative comments posted on this site. As on previous visits I found the standard of animal husbandry excellent. Animals do not live on manicured lawns and concrete jungles. The more one can replicate the natural envirnoment the happier they are. The prairie dogs are loose on a few acres and judging by their numbers are doing excellent. The marmoset monkeys are on a densely planted enclosure and rather than this being a negative aspect it is in fact beneficial as in the wild they live in dense forests. The monkeys mentioned in the wetland area have access to a wooded island via a bridge, but are more active after sundown and usually hole up during the day. (Specsavers should be of help here to the person who posted this negative comment). Rabbits here are on grass as they should be, not steel and concrete enclosures or hutches. It is said the World is made up of two types of people those that borrow and those that lend. I would add a further two types those that get up and do something and those that sit back and criticise them. If I came to find fault I wouldn't leave empty handed but Lucifer was in heaven and found fault with it. Remember it is the bird with the get up and go that takes most of the shot!

I visited this place recently as a friend of mine had recommend i visit it and now I'm writing this review to tell you that this place should be visited. Its prefect for children there are puppies rabbits and cute guinea-pigs to be rubbed! They have the most amazing array of poultry from peacocks to Canadian/Canada geese they seem to have them all! My favorite where the ring tailed lemurs they have their own island with plenty of trees to climb on and there are just the most beautiful things i have ever seen. They also have black and white ruff lemurs and white fronted lemurs and loads of owls. All the animals are in fantastic health and are very much loved. Will definitely be visiting this place again and this time I'm bringing my niece!!
