We were here in February so it was pretty quiet of tourists. The drive round the ring of Kerry leads you through part of the park. We stopped at the Ladies View, spectacular!! Next day we took a jaunting cart ride through the park to Ross castle. We saw red deer in the fields! What a gem of a place. I would have loved to stayed in Killarney the whole time and hiked around these hills! We had exceptionally nice weather at the end of February, not a drop of rain and sunny, cold days. If you stay in Killarney you have the town center with shops and pubs, but a stones throw from the park and the wonder of this land.
