We’ve been spending a couple of days here. It’s a beautiful house right close to the city centre, everithing you may need is within walking distance, including the entrance of the Park. The suite was huge, including king size bed, a very large bathroom (with both shower and bath tub) and a wide window facing the garden. Morning breakfast was very good. Besides a living room is also available for relaxing and enjoing a tea and some cookies whenever you like. Private car parking and wireless internet connection are included. All in all it’s a very good option if you don’t like a 4 stars hotel, providing the same quality and a warmer approach. On the other hand, just for the same reason, it all feels a bit less familiar than a traditional small B&B if you see what I mean.

We were here in August 2011 during the Irish Open. Very Clean, breakfast was delicious, and the hosts were hospitable. We had trouble renting a car though. There were no cars available in Killarney at that time. The hosts assisted us in getting transportation to Kerry/Farranfore airport where there were a few cars available and we were able to rent one. Also, I was burned by nettles one day while in Lixnaw, and the hosts again assisted us. They told us we needed a pharmacy in order to purchase nettle cream and directed us where to go. They also suggested "Hanningan's" Restaurant as a place to eat..it was wonderful.

A charming lodge in the center of town.
Rooms were, clean, comfortable with charming decor. The bed at first felt a little hard, but we slept well. Bathroom was very modern and clean. The breakfast was served very fresh and with a good variety in a dining room overseeing a pretty garden.
The staff was most welcoming and helpful. The only thing we missed was a restaurant on the premises. However, there were many good restaurants just a short walk from the lodge.

Room Tip: If you have trouble walking upstairs, make sure you get a room on the first floor.

I can't say enough about our stay at the Killarney Lodge. Catherine has gathered a staff that matches her own charm and warmth, makes all visitors feel like honored guests, and keeps a very tidy and comfortable inn. The rooms were spacious and clean, with proper-sized bathrooms(!) and free wi-fi. The lodge also features cozy common areas with computer access...and coffee, tea, and bicuits around the clock in the sitting room downstairs! Breakfast is included everyday, with both off-the-menu ordering and a buffet, and is second only to the atmosphere created by the staff's hospitality. Location is perfect for walks downtown, and driving to local sights. The accomodations were certainly a highlight of my first trip to Ireland.

Catherine and her staff made is feel at home. This was one of the larger B&Bs and they can accommodate larger groups, yet still give that personal touch feeling. Ice machine was huge...the only one we found in Ireland. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable and the showers big with great water pressure. The breakfast was customed made, delicious with many choices. The garden was perfect for after dinner glass of port or wine. The location was a short walking distance to downtown. Killarney is a beautiful town and not to be missed!
