We wanted to do at least one stay above a pub and this worked out well.
There is an elevator to the rooms, no stairs to haul luggage up.
The room was very large and worked great for the night. Room was clean and very quiet but nothing fancy, very plain.
The pub down below was great. Service was very good and food tasted great. Drinks tasted as good as they should.

Customer service was great, especially the next morning when they helped us call our credit card company to deal with an issue.

Would gladly stay here again

My husband and I stayed here on the first night of our honeymoon last night and it was the perfect introduction to Irish hospitality! We loved everything about Murphy's - the room, the bed, the view, the receptionist, the stunning decor, the service, the quiet, everything! We had our first full Irish breakfast here and loved it. When we arrived jetlagged and soaking wet, the receptionist, Siobhan, took pity on us and before we left two days later she gave us free coffee (the best cup of coffee I've ever had - Maher's).

We were in Ireland at a busy time so accommodation was difficult to book. We walked into Murphy's guesthouse and happened to get the last room available. The receptionist was delightful and very friendly, we immediately felt at home here. The nightly entertainment of Irish music was a real treat. The Irish breakfast each morning was enjoyable. The room was clean and spacious. All the staff were happy and helpful. This is a very special place to stay in Killarney right in the heart of the town with easy access to everything. We couldn't recommend it enough.

When we decided to book "Murphy's Guesthouse", it was because of its convenience: close to
bus station, in the center of town, and "over-a-pub"!!! We had no idea that it would be as
lovely (and comfortable!) as it turned out to be.

Even though we were there on the weekend our rooms were very quiet! We enjoyed the pub,
the evening traditional music, and the fantastic breakfast that was included each morning of our stay. Staying at Murphy's made our visit to Killarney comfortable, and memorable! Wonderful hospitality!

Thanks Murphy's!!!

Room Tip: Our rooms seemed to be "at the back" of the building....even with the windows open it was...

Good location in centre of town. We were given a great room looking onto the Main Street. We really enjoyed the breakfasts, plenty of food and options. Live music in the evening was also good. We loved killarney and hotel is right by lots of places to hire bikes. Also lots of restaurants nearby.

We spent 3 nights at Murphy's. Great stay! The rooms were large and very clean. The staff at the guesthouse and the restaurants are fantastic. The food at Lord Kenmare's was the greatest meal we had in Ireland. We tried to go back the following evening, but as it was full, we ate at the pub and asked if we could order a meal that was on the Lord Kenmare's menu and they obliged us. Service is impeccable. I must say that the pub food is also fantastic. We will definitely return on our next stay. Thank you to Kate and John from Kenmare for recommending Murphy's to us.

Great big rooms, all very clean, thought breakfast let the stay down. I was still eating my porridge when my cooked breakfast was placed on a shelf above my head, should have taken it away and brought it back when I was finished...a child in our party was given a scalding hot plate at breakfast, two things pointed out to staff but no apology given, 5 of us squashed onto a small table resulting on a plate of food landing on one persons lap. the owners have excellent people skills, pity they did not train their staff in the same way.
