when we got to the guesthouse we went in the side door and there was no arrows to tell you where the reception was!!!! When we asked other people staying in the guesthouse and they said it was down the hall so we walked down and could see no reception and the we spotted a table with some abbey lodge cards and a bell.

We rang the bell and after about 5 minutes we were met by a man who told us to fill in a sheet and then he brought us to our room (Room 21) and the room was fine at first but the it started to get worse
There was a note on the batroom door saying that you have to lock the bathroom door as the steam from the shower sets off the smoke alarm.
The curtains and the bed linen was very old and out dated.
In our room there was a velux window in the roof and that nite it was pouring rain and the noise of the rain kept me up most of the night!!! and the window was open and there was no way or closing it because it was up so high and the rain was getting into our room!!!
The breakfast was ok but not the best!!!!
We were so happy when it came to check out time!!!
I dont reccomed you stay here!!!
The price wasent helpfull wither as i thought it was a bit much for the service of quality we recieved and the shower , the water come out very fast so you need to be perpared when you step in!!!!

Room Tip: ask for a room on the ground floor and a room the does not have a velux window!!!!!!!!

Aussies travelling, found this lovely B & B on Laterooms. Very central to shops if walking & also to surrounding sites of Ring of Kerry if driving. Good room with walk in shower for my reduced mobility. Very friendly & helpful staff & owner, John. Free parking. No restaurant but plenty of eating places nearby. Breakfast was a full hearty feast. Can't help the weather though.

Stayed here during August for one night. We were attending a wedding in a nearby hotel so the location was great. It's only a 5 minute walk to the town centre which is a great convenience. The house itself was pretty impressive, a very friendly welcome upon arrival by a lovely girl. The room was lovely and spacious and had quite a few facilities in the room (even a safe!) that would be familiar in a hotel room so I was quite surprised.
The breakfast is served a little early, between 8am and 9.30am which of course isn't a problem if you're availing of the early starts.
All in all I would stay here again and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who asks.

Room Tip: Maybe ask for an upstairs room. Parking facilities were located to the rear of the house and cars dr...

We stayed for two nights in June. The location is terrific and a very easy walk to the pubs, dining and other town areas. The rooms are very clean, yet a bit dated, but as another traveler mentioned, most are of a similar decor. John, the owner, is very nice and helpful. He does opperate two B & B's that are connected, so his time is split a little, but we did not feel slighted. The breakfast was better than expected, especially for the reasonable rate of 80 Euros that we were charged.

Appears to be staffed mostly by non-local people who, whilst perfectly pleasant and efficient, generally don't pass the time of day or make you feel particularly special - as one might expect in a B&B. The owner, seen once, was very pleasant and helpful however. The premises are excellently situated for access on foot to Killarney centre and the National Park. One minor annoyance was the absence of any tea/coffee making equipment in the rooms - although available in the common lounge (but facilities in the rooms are promised in the literature and lack of them makes it impossible to have an early morning cuppa in bed)! A nice touch is the free WIFI and freely usable online PC in the lounge (a slow broadband connection but better than nothing).

We stayed here in December so it was pretty quiet, the staff (who I'm guessing are the owners) were wonderfully friendly and helpful. The rooms were a bit dated but it seemed to be the style of most of the b&bs we stayed in in Ireland. The rooms were big and suited our needs well. Breakfast in the morning was great, lots to choose from! A full Irish, waffles, pancakes so that was really great. Our friend also fell over on a walk and got mud all over his jeans and they washed and dried them for him at the B&B so that was also really good. I would definately recommend this b&b as a safe bet if you are staying in Killarney.
