One of the very best, if not the best, B and B we have ever stayed in. We were greeted by Mary given tea and cake in the lounge and an insight into local attractions. Our room overlooked the back garden and had a wonderful view of the mountains. Room was very spacious as was the ensuite and spotlessly clean. There was a very good choice of quality food at breakfast which Bridget served with a smile and much advice as to how best to view the local sights.
The B and B has some lovely touches such as a communal fridge for beer, wine and snacks with glasses in the lounge for guests to use. It was lovely to come back after an evening meal and have a drink in front of the open fire and meet fellow guests.
If you want to walk the short distance to the local eatery then Mary can supply high visibility vests and a very large flashlight - only good for ladies with large handbags!
Short drive to local attractions such as Torc Waterfall, Muckross House and Killarney town.

Friar's Glen offers the warmth and hospitality of a B and B combined with features offered in better hotels and inns. On arrival we were offered a cup of tea and cake and Mary took time to tell us about local highlights. Every afternoon a peat fire is lit in the very cozy lounge and guests enjoy a cup of tea, or a glass of wine before dinner. There is a bar fridge and wine glasses for the use of guests. The rooms are spacious and spotless and even offer a small safe for valuables. Breakfast was delicious with good variety. John, Mary, and Bridget made us feel very welcome.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back are particularly nice with a pleasant view over the garden.

We have had a wonderful time at this B&B!

When we arrived we were very well received by Mary and John! We had a warm welcome in all possible ways! Tea and homemade cake, a warm fireplace and a smile! John was great showing us many options for getting around.
The location is fantastic! You hear the birds in the morning, you can see the stars during night and you also have deers while you have breakfast in the morning! Bridget was an amazing host as well and the breakfast is just to die for!
The rooms are spacious and very very comfortable! I was waiting for a good nights sleep for a while and this was just perfect!

I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting to truly relax...close to nature... without feeling isolated!

Lovely place and will be back for sure!

We were welcomed by Bridget on our first stay at this wonderful place. Her wit and charm were welcomed and appreciated. Mary and John both are wonderful hosts of this lovely home. We enjoyed hearing how Mary and John came to create Friars Glen. Mary told us some stories that helped us better understand some of the Irish culture and John helped us decide between Dingle Peninsula or Ring of Kerry, since we had limited time to experience them both. We chose Dingle and were not at all disappointed with that.

The breakfasts were delicious and among the best we had while there in Ireland.

We enjoyed the sitting room with the fireplace, which was so comforting with the smell of peat and wood. We were able to use the room to have some local cider and beer while we planned our next day.

We highly recommend this place for anyone who is going to Ireland. We hope to be blessed enough to stay there again in the future.

Hands down the best B&B we stayed at in Ireland. Affordable price with beautiful views in the perfect location for the Ring of Kerry. Had we known how perfect this place was, we would have rearranged our entire trip to spend more time here.
Mary, John and Bridget were extremely welcoming and helpful with suggestions on where to go / what to see.

Loved staying in this beautiful, comfortable, accessible B&B in Killarney National Park! Bridgette was so very helpful and Mary's breakfasts were delicious! Loved sitting by the fire in the sitting room in the afternoon having wine or tea! Would highly recommend this lovely place!

We stayed 2 nights while touring the area & this was easily our favorite of the various hotels, B&Bs, and Inns we stayed at during our 10 day trip. The grounds are beautiful & the view from our room - Elm room I believe - of the mountains was stunning. Both mornings we saw several of the local red deer grazing on the back lawn. The dining room has a great view & breakfast was delicious. The room was spacious, comfy, clean, and I particularly loved the use of the wool blankets from the local Mucros Weavers. Common room was very comfortable with several sofas, chairs, and a warming fire. Best of all was the hospitality of Mary, John, & Bridget. From the moment we arrived & Mary served us tea by the fire we felt very much at home.
