My wife and I and our two adult kids just got back from a trip that included London, Edinburgh, and several stops in Ireland. Our favorite hotel on the trip was the Arbutus. It's beautiful inside and out and the location is perfect. Parking is nearby and cheap. The staff was great. Sean made great recommendations on sight seeing and dinners (the seafood at Bricin is amazing). There are great pubs nearby but out favorite turned out to be Buckley's right off the lobby. Our room accomocated all four of us and was roomy, quiet, and comfortable. The dinning room is amazing - elegant, spacious and comfortable. Betty served wonderful breakfasts which included fresh fruit and great coffee (very important). The sisters who alternated at the desk were very friendly and helpful. We hope to get back to Ireland, and if we do, Killarney and the Arbutus will be a definite stop.

This hotel is nicley located in the centre of Killarney. It has a convenient public car park out back. It is next to many tasty restaurants and nice shops. It is easy to navigate to all the local sights. Rooms are quite adequate. Common areas are quite quaint and amenable for gathering of small groups. Nice full Irish breakfast in the morning.

Nice older hotel here right in the center of town. Because it's smaller, there was no one at the front desk when we arrived, but someone came within a minute of when we called. The room was not perfect - couldn't figure out how to run the heater / a.c., and the bed was a little bit too soft for my back. Great breakfast and very friendly staff. Good value for the money spent.

We stayed at the Arbutus for two nights. We were welcomed by Michelle, who is extremely personable.

What a difference from the staff at the Clontarf Castle Hotel in Dublin. They barely acknowledge you when you are standing in front of them. Not so at the Arbutus. Michelle went out of her way to also assist us in planning our sight seeing. Her recommendations were excellent. No matter what the question, she was more than willing to help us out.

The dining room staff was also very friendly. Betty made sure everyone had what they needed for breakfast. She also asked if we wanted tea or coffee to go. Very nice and friendly.

I loved the cute sitting rooms. They were warm and inviting.

The location is absolutely perfect. We were in walking distace to shops, restaurants and pubs.

We also enjoyed the pub at the Arbutus. The clientele were jovial and the bartenders were very nice.

We would definitely stay at the Arbutus on our next trip to Killarney.

I just got back from a wonderful vacation in Ireland with my family. We stayed four nights in Killarney at Arbutus and cannot say enough about the hospitality that was shown us! Every morning we were given the most delicious "Irish Breakfast" - everything made to order and the staff was delightful. Our rooms were clean, quiet! It was a great location with stores and pubs right there, including Buckley's which is part of the hotel with authentic Irish music. This was truly a great find and a place I would go back to!!
