I stepped in the front door of the Arbutus Hotel and I felt like I was stepping into another world - a world of wonder.. It immediately felt right and I knew that my sister and I had made the right choice for our weekend away... We were greeted in a way (by Michelle) that made us feel like we were the most important people in the world and that standard never dropped for one minute throughout our stay. We loved the room, and the beautiful old world feel of the hotel, with the most unique and tasty pieces of antique furniture throughout. The breakfast was something special - kept us going all day! Every mouthful was just top class, especially those little scones! Then when you stepped outside, you were right in the middle of the buzz and joy that is Killarney Town... All the staff were wonderful - kind, helpful and warm. I am going back again in May with some friends and really look forward to it! I would recommend the Arbutus to anyone who takes their weekends away very seriously! :-)

Mary T,

Wow, what can we say but we are truly honoured to have the likes of your good self now on The Arbutus team of honoury ambassadors. It is with great joy that we read your powerful and eloquent words about your Amazing Experience, a world of wonder and that on arrival you and your sister IMMEDIATELY FELT RIGHT, you had made the right choice and that you are now confident to RECOMMEND THE ARBUTUS TO ANYONE WHO TAKES THEIR WEEKENDS AWAY VERY SERIOOUSLY.

At The Arbutus we appreciate how valuable guest’s time away is, how hard you have to work for your time off and how difficult it can be to get the dates that suit most, who will mind the cat while you are away and all that. We may not be the cheapest in town but we do believe (and always strive to deliver this belief) that we give fair value.

Apologies in the delay in replying, thanks to you and all other past guests who recommend The Arbutus, we have been very busy and it is only now that I am getting the opportunity to.

Now that Kerry are no longer in the All-Ireland, you might come down for a good Autumnal hike followed by an evening by the open fire instead. Whenever it will be, we look forward to welcome you back again in the near future.

Slán,

Seán

P.S.

Keep up the good work

We didn't stay here but popped in for breakfast. Delicious! and considering you are getting a full cooked to order hotel breakfast, and a buffet with freshly baked scone and gingerbread, fantastic value at €12.50. Friendly staff and served until 11pm. Great way to start the day in Killarney!

Mike,

Thank you for your wonderful comments following your recent visit to us.

I am delighted to read that you enjoyed our breakfasts – As you said they are a great way to start your day in Killarney. We are so lucky with our location - just minutes walk from the best that Killarney has to offer and also the ideal base for The Ring of Kerry, Dingle and Beara. We serve breakfast from 7.30 until 11.00 every morning and the day begins for our breakfast chef, Marion at 5.30 baking brown bread, scones and gingerbread and sometimes making jams and marmalades.

We hope to see you back again the next time you are in Killarney.
Slán,

Seán

Had a wonderful experience at the Arbutus Hotel. Everyone was pleasant and welcoming. Has the feeling of a bed and breakfast, not a generic hotel. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of most Killarney has to offer. You will not be disappointed with the charm and hospitality here!

Cher,

Thank you for your lovely comments following your stay with us and apologies for the delay in replying, we have been very, very busy since and this I put down to all the nice people like you who share their Arbutus experience with all on Tripadvisor.

I am delighted to read how much you enjoyed your stay with us and you are quite correct when you highlight our location, being just minutes walk from the best that Killarney has to offer. What gives me great pleasure is your comments about THE ARBUTUS BEING WARM & FRIENDLY WITH CHARM AND HOSPITALITY and not generic. That is just what we would like to be remember/recognized as.

Love to all in Howell.

Seán

Just spent 2 nights in this lovely hotel situated in the centre of Killarney town. A very warm welcome on arrival at reception immediately made us feel that service here will be excellent. The double room was a generous enough size and clean - amazing bed that allowed for a great nights sleep, good quality shower with plenty of hot water, generally very comfortable. The breakfast was top class and again the staff were very warm, friendly and efficient (thank you Betty!). Lovely atmosphere in this hotel and a great location for a trip around the magnificant picturesque Ring of Kerry. Would definitely recommend this hotel and hopefully will return again soon.

Jacqueline ,

Thank you very much for your lovely review.

We are all really delighted to see that you enjoyed your visit to The Arbutus, we hope that you will have many more.

“Warm friendly atmosphere”,
Atmosphere is a little like reputation and character. It is an invisible that is best developed over time, try too hard or to rush it and it becomes apparent very quickly whether it is genuine or not. I am really fortunate with the atmosphere that has developed in our hotel. Their is a genuine interest by all the team in the hotel being a nice place to visit and everyone makes a great commitment to care, courtesy and respectful service. We are glad that you got it.

Some marketers talk about USPs and UPBs. Unique selling points and Unique perceived benefits. Thank you for listing off some of ours; the centre of town, a very warm welcome with a promise of excellent service, generous rooms with amazing beds that allowed for a great nights sleep, good quality showers followed by top class breakfast served by warm, friendly and efficient staff.

We have loyalty rewards for repeat guests so please be sure to mention when you are enquiring for your next visit. We look forward to welcoming you back.

Slán,

Seán.

This hotel is ideally located. Our room was a good size and was beautifully furnished with antique furniture including a wing chair.
What made the hotel for us was the friendly welcome and interest from the staff. The generosity in terms of tea and slices of homemade ginger bread. The really lovely and TV free sitting room. The freshly cooked breakfast, which included home made scones. More ginger bread and home made jam.
A real pleasure to stay here. Highly recommend

Hecoba,

Thank you for taking time out of your day to write this lovely review. I must say it really makes my day to know that we, as a staff, can give ourselves a pat on the back, knowing that we are doing something right. I cannot take credit but I do wholeheartedly agree with you that the home baking and cooking certainly do add to the overall experience that we aim to share with our guests.

We look forward to hopefully welcoming you again sometime in the near or distant future,

Slán,
Seán.
