This was a wonderful experience we went here on the August bank holiday beautiful evening as we sat on the lawn with our afternoon tea the staff were most helpful the hotel is beautiful we were able to roam the rooms downstairs . I also returned for lunch the food was beautiful and the bar man that served us both times was helpful courteous . Will go back again

Had to give them excellent rating as I went last minute in Killarney during August and for what I paid, it was fantastic value. 5 mins walk to the national events centre but still retains country manor setting. I digress, I went there for a wedding- they can only cater for 'intimate' i.e. small weddings, and it was ideal. The different reception rooms were great for mingling and with most of the rooms in another wing I don't think other guests were interrupted. Residents bar in the cellar also. My huge room was in the manor house. I suspected it would be stuffy, so I turned off the 3 radiators - it was that big - opened the window a crack, and closed the bathroom door, as it seemed to have very warm underfloor heating. I still woke too early due to stuffiness and being allergic to feather duvet- for most people this is a great thing, but it was much less stuffy than other old manors I have stayed in and had no trouble getting to sleep, so more a compliment than a gripe. The staff were nice and polite and the Duty manager had good banter with the guests and kept a good eye out. Breakfast menu was nicely varied, and the wedding meal was tasty- I had the salmon. The one odd thing was the price(s), single rate was €125 on internet, quoted €95 when I rang up (which I accepted, duh!), and €100 on check in form. The bride and groom were walking into the lobby right then, so I never questioned it, and overall it was great value for money. Great setting, location, room value and staff. Cahernane house recommended.

Room Tip: Original manor room for old world charm. Warm bathroom floor.

I stayed in Cahernane in October 2012 and it was wonderful, it wasn't very busy so it was like having your very own manor house. The house is beautiful and the staff are 2nd to none. They could not be more helpful!
The food was exceptional in both the dining room and bar (I love the cellar bar!).
It's in a perfect location next to the park and within walking distance of town. I'll definitely be going back.

We stayed here with the CIE Tours due to problems with the original hotel. Wow - what an upgrade! Exquisite dining room, great cozy bar, fantastic room, and even a pool table. Nice new airy sitting area along with the original library room. Would come back just to walk the grounds and see the animals grazing on the grounds.

This is one of the few places in which the exterior and the interior of the building are in the same condition as their photos. This place was wonderful and the staff was great. The breakfast was really good and its location is out of the touristy part of Kilarney. We used this as a base for exploring the Ring of Kerry. The room was elegant and even had heated floors in the bathroom. We stayed in several castles while on our trip, but this house seemed the most fitting to the historical-type experience were looking for. The only downside, is that the heart of town would be quite a distance to walk to.

If you are not a Spartan, then this luxurious house hotel is definitely for you! Very clean and tidy throughout with beautiful rooms overlooking lakes and mountains. Very polished staff (don’t know if there are any Polish guys))) Very good menu for breakfast (try crepes – one of the best I’ve ever tasted!) Impressively enticing and succulent dinner! If you are a smoker (like myself), ask for a room with a balcony. Breathtaking views, while having your cup of coffee (I won’t mention a cigar!)))) Very fortuitous combination of nature and a hotel! Although, you are just 10 min walk from the busy town center, yet it feels like you are in the heart of the National Park!

Cahernane House lives up to its name as a grand estate in Killarney. The whole experience is top-notch. We arrived at the hotel later in the evening, but the nice lady at the front desk made sure we knew the restaurants were almost done serving dinner, and she called The Cellar Bar to tell them we were coming down to eat. The meal was amazing! Our room was incredibly spacious and had a nice patio that led out to the back garden area. The grounds were a pleasure to walk around - there's a stunning view of the mountains in Killarney National Park, a great little swing, and plenty of chickens and cows to keep you entertained. The common rooms were a comfortable place to sit for wifi-usage, though the signal was a little weak. However, with such grand surroundings, why would you want to be on your computer anyway.
