Beautiful accomodation set on lovely grounds our room overlooked the lake which was pictureque with swans . Spacious and modern rooms , has a gym and sauna steam room facilities were excellent. Had afternoon tea in the bar area service was slow and difficult to get staff to be attentive , were slightly busy but they seemed to forget that you were there. We had after dinner drinks and were entertained by live duo singling classic songs , great night . Great location near many sites , visited Muckross Estate which was fantastic. Love to stay again , Breakfast was a buffet with a fresh variety of items and extremely tasty.

I can't fault this hotel at all. We stayed in both a deluxe lake view and a master deluxe room on the two occasions we stayed here, I loved every minute of it. The rooms were spacious, luxurious and extremely comfortable. The staff was pleasant and helpful. However, I would like to note that we stayed in the newly refurbished part of the hotel, my parents have stayed in the standard rooms and these seem to be outdated and somewhat of a disappointment.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for its superb views, location and above all else its service.

My husband and I recently stayed in the lakes hotel for a 2 night break without the kids. It was fantastic. We had a superior room, which had a balcony looking out on the lake, lovely 2 sit out and have a bottle of wine. so romantic. Staff were friendly and food was lovely. Hotel is a bit pricey but worth it. We will be back

checked in group of 4 and 4 month old baby on check in we booked our evening meal for half eight no mention of policy that children are not allowed in restaurant or bar or sitting room after 7 pm we would not have checked into the hotel at this point if we thought we would be confined to our hotel room from 7 pm!!! we arrived at restaurant at half eight as pre booked baby sleeping in buggy and a waiter met us at the door and informed us of strict no child policy and said he would seat us at edge of restaurant but if baby woke or guest complained we would have to leave. we were all shocked at the way we were made unwelcome and no apology was made by any staff member or management which were informrd of the situation the reply all made was its policy. we had our meal though clearly unwanted between the four adults we spent about 500 euro between lunch, dinner and accomadation for one night but we will go elsewhere in future where an irish welcome and old fashioned irish hospitality will greet us instead of discrimination of a mother and her sleeping baby. we previously stayed in the plaza hotel killarney where when they saw we had a child with us they gave us a complimentary room upgrade so we would have extra space this is an example of the big difference in customer service between hotels. a policy like this should be clearly mentioned at time of reservation not after we have checked in.

Dear Guest,

We are very sorry you did not enjoy their stay with us. I will contact you in the coming Days.

We do operate a Child Policy in our Castlelough Restaurant (Young Children seated by 7pm). However we also offer our "A La Carte" (Bistro) Restaurant until 9PM where Young Children are always Welcome.

There is also our snack Menu in the Sun Lounge from 2PM until 10PM where Children are Welcome.

As parents many of our Managers and our Employees understand the importance of Children and we do cater for Children but we also cater for those on a Break away from their Kids, of People who do not have kids.

Our policy stands to protect all Guests and as an Irish Family Run hotel we do strive to offer True Irish Hospitality.

I loved this place, it is just what I wanted from a hotel in Kerry. Amazing views of the lake, peaceful, great service and a country house feel to the whole place.
There is something completely magical and mystical about the lakes and surrounding area. As I sat by the side of the lake, a deer grazed nearby and the fish were jumping up out of the water.

You can walk into the town (about 20mins away), great that is off the road and away from the hustle and bustle.

Totally recommend an afternoon Deros tour!

If I had any complaints:
1. Shower curtain in bathroom - really should be a screen!
2. Could only get wi fi in reception area.
