This trip was a birthday gift and I never did kayaking before. The weather was quite windy and the waves on the normal route were incredibly strong. Our guide had a perfect solution: We went the other way (north) around Ross Castle. So don't worry about wind and weather and being beginners. The north route was much calmer and we made good speed. We visited Innisfallen island and learned a lot about the history of the place.
As it never rains for long in Ireland, we even enjoyed the sun on our way back. Highly recommendable trip.
