A luxurious yet intimate bar area welcomed us on arrival so we took advantage of the pleasant atmosphere to peruse the menu over a gin & tonic, the menu offers a varied selection without being too large yet choosing for us was still difficult as we liked the sound of everything but soon made the decision and finished our drinks before being shown to our table.
With our wine opened an amuse bouche arrived which got our taste buds going followed by our starters along with some very tasty hot breads, we had the rabbit and the salmon both of which were artfully presented with flavours to match, then came a sorbet to freshen the pallet and soon after our mains the monkfish and the beef, again the presentation was fabulous as were the flavours, at this point our main topic of conversation was the food we loved every bit of it and looked forward to seeing the desert menu, this time we both chose the chocolate tart which was delightful, smooth, rich, dark and a joy to see.
To sum up the food is exceptional, artfully presented and full of flavour the staff are very knowledgeable, polite and helpful, plus being in beautiful relaxing surroundings make ‘West End House’ a restaurant I would not only happily but very highly recommend.
