Wasn't really sure about going to Muckross house with there being a tour guide but what an eye opener it was. The tour guide was very pleasant and extremely knowledgeable. If you are a fan of Downton Abbey then this is the place to visit. Doesn't loo massive from the outside but feels huge when your inside. GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY.

We did a tour of Muckross House and Gardens after driving around the Ring of Kerry. The guide made the tour extremely interesting and told us of the renovation previous owners had done for the Queens mother for her stay. Also it was fascinating to see the old Waterford Crystal chandeliers.
It was raining the afternoon that we went and we didn't see as much of the gardens as we would have liked. Still we had a wonderful tour and would definitely recommend it.

When we arrived we had a good lunch at the restaurant. Afterwards had the guided tour of the house. The lady was very funny and informative. The house is amazing and has beautiful gardens!! Lots of historic details, lovely furniture, colors, details.. we really liked it. Wish we could have seen a bit more though.

While touring Ireland, we had a two day stop in Kilarney. Wishing to take a break from the bus, we opted to take our own tour and discovered Muckross House & Gardens. The house was beautiful - with one room more lovely and ornate than the next. The exterior was stunning, and the gardens meticulously manicured. The scenery was breathtaking. Well worth the visit!

Absolutely lovely furniture, knickknacks, etc. in a lovely old estate house in a National Park in Ireland. We took a horse and buggy ride with 6 others from Killarney through the forest of the Park to the house. It was wonderful and the surprising thing to me was how many extremely large trees were imported by the Muckross occupants that came from America! Killarney is a great town to visit and stay also.
