A worthwhile visit. Tour of Muckross house was very interesting and reasonably priced at four Euros. The grounds are beautiful. One could spend a whole day there.

It was like stepping into another era as everything was very well perserved. The opulence was evident, along with the educated tour provided. highly recommended..

Firstly there was no charge to enter the grounds.
Plenty car parking. Lots of different walks to get away from the world at large

Everything about Muckross is delightful. The view from the gardens in front of the house is stunning. It is pleasant to sit and relax and enjoy the Mountains. The gardens alone would make your visit worth while. They weave their own cloth and throw their own pots. There is a viewing porch where visitors can watch the pots and cloth they buy being made. They have a farm for the children and a good restaurant where you can have a snack or a meal served throughout the day.
