I have stayed at the Ferris Wheel three times. The Owners, John and Nora, are fantastic people. The rooms are clean and well kept. The breakfasts are very good with ample variety. The location can't be beat. It is convenient to The Gap of Dunloe, Kate Kearney's Cottage, downtown Killarney and the ring of Kerry. I look forward to staying again.

We stayed in The Ferris Wheel for two nights in July while we were attending a wedding in The Dunloe. The B&B is ideally located close to The Dunloe if you fancy comfort without the expense of The Dunloe.

Our room was a very decent size and modern (not like a typical irish B&B). Rooms and en suite spotlessly clean. Shower a little usual but obviously to cater for disable /older clientele. Lovely folder in room full of information about the area and amenities.

Lovely breakfast in the morning served with as much french press coffee as you like!!!

Cannot fault The Ferris Wheel and will definitely recommend!

Stayed here for a night with wife while attending a wedding at the Dunloe Hotel. The room was very comfortable and clean, quite large for a B&B and a nice clean ensuite facilitated a nice warm shower. No shower curtain though which was unusual.

It 1.3km from the Dunloe hotel along a country road. Pretty during the day and dark at night (no streetlighting). We walked home with a torch which was pleasant. So if going to and fro the hotel at night bring a torch, comfortable shoes and a hi vis vest though the roads are very quiet. There is one verge on the side of the road where you could easily step into for a little bit of the way so be careful of that.

Probably best suited though for walkers to the beautiful Gap. Ideal for that.

Breakfast was just ok though in pleasant surroundings. Well cooked but ingredient quality particularly sausages weren't great.

All in all I'd stay there again for €70 but would prefer better sausages and would give an extra star in this case.

Take signs for "Kate Kearney's cottage" and you'll find it on the right by the way.

We loved our stay at the Ferris Wheel B&B ! My twin 13 year old kids and I stayed here for a wonderful four days in June, when we travelled to Ireland to attend my brothers wedding.. We were made to feel so very welcome by the wonderful Ferris family. We had a very spacious and immaculately clean family room to share, which was supplied with everything that we needed, and we really appreciated all of the very welcoming touches, such as a kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits in the room, and shampoo and soap already in the bathroom. ( we flew Ryanair and were travelling very light in terms of liquid toiletries!) Nora and John were so friendly and warm, and made us feel right at home, so much so that Nora was helping my son get his wedding cravat tied up properly. We were given wonderful local sightseeing tips and were sent on our happy way every day after the most delicious full Irish breakfast imaginable ! The B&B itself is located in the spectacular scenery of the very nearby Dunloe Gap! A very huge thank you to John and Nora, who made our stay in Ireland a very wonderful experience. We wish you continued success with your wonderful family business, we would certainly love to visit again in the future. Thanks so much for everything ! Kerry, Matt and Tara, Oxford, UK

Lovely room and expansive traditional breakfast. John is a fountain of knowledge about the area and its history. I also took a ride in his jaunty cart in the Gap. Short, beautiful walk to Kate Kearney's cottage and the entrance to the Gap.

We were in Ireland for two weeks and stayed in 4 B&Bs during our holiday. We stayed 3 nights at the Ferris Wheel and it was very much below the quality of the others. This one was clearly the worst. I'll compare the experience here compared to the other B&Bs.

At all the other B&Bs we were greated by the owners, offered tea, shown around the B&B, and one owner even helped carry in our luggage. Here the owner showed us our room and disappeared. When the TV would not work we had to ring the front door bell to get the owner's attention because we did not know where he went.

The Ferris Wheel did not have a sitting room for guests. All the rest had very comfortable sitting rooms with a fireplace, stereo, TV and books or magazines. You felt like you were in a home. One owner even invited us in to watch the last few minutes of a sporting event on the TV by this roaring fire.

The shower in our bathroom did not have a stall. But rather a small three sided glass screen that let the shower water get all over the bathroom. My wife called out that the water was leaking out into the bedroom!

The only electric outlet for the coffee pot was on the floor. So my wife had to sit down on the floor to plug it into the floor outlet to make her morning coffee!

Last but most inconveniently, the owner informed us on our third night that he needed payment in CASH because he only rented the credit card machine during the summer! We scrambled to find an ATM machine in a hotel 10 km away to get cash. Why didn't he tell us when we checked in?

AVOID this B&B. There are others on the same road as his if you want to be near the Gap of Dunloe.

The gap of Dunlow is a mystical place and John, the propritor of the Ferris Wheel made it even better. The accomodations were great and John whose grandfather and father have taken visitors by horse and trap into the gap over the last 80 years provided first hand knowledge of the area including its history, fauna and geology. It was a great stop for us.
