“Great place, great people!”

Stayed 2 nights with a tour, and we were greeted by a wonderful family. They made us feel at home immediately, and the house was filled with the smell of baking cookies. Marese is a gourmet chef, and we were able to order our dinners from an extensive menu of fabulous meal choices. The children provided musical background during meals, and we felt we were staying with family instead of business people.
I highly recommend Cillcearn house, as well as the country of Ireland, to everyone.

Room Tip: All the rooms were great for our group, can't go wrong with any of them. Depends on your bed-typ...

We had a two night stay in July and found it to be a wonderful experience. Tom and Marese were great hosts who were helpful in every way. The food was good, the room was not the most elegant we have stayed in, but it was quite adequate. The best part of our stay was spending time talking with Tom in the kitchen regarding Killarney, Irish culture, and anything else that came up in the conversation. My wife loved Tom's coffee, nice and strong! Tom was especially helpful to us when we encountered some issues with our rental car. It was nice to have some local knowledge when that occurred. If we were ever in Killarney again we would stay here again!

Very friendly and helpful hosts... lovely lovely people. Twin room was certainly very comfortable and spotlessly clean but quite small (fine for short stay though). It was a lovely touch having access to a very well equipped visitor kitchen (and sitting room), but it would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facility in our room too. Overall, we were a bit disappointed by this B&B considering it is award winning and TA reviews were so good...but that's not so much a criticism; just that our expectations were higher. Tom and Marese were very helpful with local knowledge, and even dropped us into town for free. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Don't get me wrong, this place wasn't terrible, just not what we expected. The host was great, but we were hoping for a little more. It was like someone bought a house, turned it into a B & B a few years later, and was just a little plain. The room we originally were offered was right on the main street, so we asked for a room off the street with a smaller bed. We were fine with this, but the room was very tiny. The bed was terribly uncomfortable. The en suite was small, but had a larger shower. It was nice to see a box of tissue in the room, the first and only the entire trip. Free wifi, mediocre breakfast, and about 1 1/2 miles to town. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you don't mind driving to town and are in a pinch to find a place to stay. We did enjoy playing with Sophie the lab.

We stayed one night in August. Had one twin and one double room. Both rooms were beautifully decorated and really nice and clean.
The house is 2 min drive from the centre of Killarney.
Since it is close to the main road (to Cork) it is a bit load but if you get a room from at the back of the house you wouldn't hear a thing.
Breakfast was ok as well.
I'd definitely come back if I visit Killarney again

Room Tip: Get a room at the back of the house to avoid the noise from the main road

The hosts, Tom and Marese, were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was great.
Due to problems with our air travel we arrived very late on our first night. Marese recommended a restaurant and called to make sure it was still open then arranged for a taxi. The restaurant was good too btw!

The Cillcearn House in Killarney operated by Marese and Tom Kearney is simply an outstanding B&B experience. Marese, Tom and their children are very friendly, welcoming, informative, and accomodating but not at all intrusive. The rooms are extremely clean, roomy and comfortable and all come with a TV and private bath. It is located a comfortable 20 minute walk from the center of town and there is also a beautiful wooded area across the street with well groomed walking paths for a relaxing stroll alongside a stream. The breakfasts were prepared to order and were excellent. One evening, dinner was prepared for us and the soup and shepard's pie was the best meal we had during our entire stay in Ireland. Marese was kind enough to share the recipe for the vegetable soup which has been used by her family for generations. Overall, when in Killarney, we highly recommend that you stay at the Cillcearn House!
