We were very impressed with the professionalism and helpfulness of Catherine Deros. She booked everything for us online without asking for payment! The trust was very refreshing! We would definitely use them if we ever go back to the area. The tour was well organized.

I booked the Full Day Tour of The Dingle Peninsula and Slea Head with Deros via the Viator website but was very disappointed. My first direct contact was calling the office the day prior to confirm my booking (as my voucher directed me to) but the elderly lady who answered the phone seemed to have no idea what I was trying to do. We eventually got it. I arrived the next day and found the office was extremely chaotic with buses blocking the street, people for 3 different tours waiting around and arriving from hotel pick-ups (that they were still trying to organise 5 minutes before the tour was due to depart). They also seemed to have people booked on tours that were already full.

When we got onto the bus I found that the driver/guide had little more of interest to say other than the cost of now empty housing estates and the set of Ryan's Daughter (it was mentioned no less than 7 times with the highlight of pointing out a rock they used in front of the school on set... really - nothing more in Ireland's history worth telling than this???!). Another low point was that instead of being able to eat in Dingle with its myriad of dining options, we had to spend an hour at a cafeteria at the Slea Head visitor centre for lunch. Although I appreciated some of the stops for photos, others seemed too long. Would have much more appreciated stopping in Dingle longer for lunch and hearing more about the area's history, stories, etc.

Overall I found this quite disappointing but maybe that was because I had been on excellent tours in Scotland beforehand.

Thank you for your recent review of our Dingle Peninsula Tour.

We are sorry that you got off to a bad start regarding the reconfirmation of your tour. We can only put this down to a misunderstanding, as all of our staff –and indeed the lady you spoke with –are familiar with Viator and all that it entails.

At peak season, our popular tours are in high-demand, and naturally, there will be a lot of people in our office. The narrow streetscapes for which Killarney is famed, and of course, which gives it character and charm, was built before the advent of luxury touring coaches. For this reason, the lack of on-street parking adjacent to our office might give the impression of chaos to passers-by. However, whether or not there was chaos on the street, we have systems in place whereby it is simply not possible for us to over-sell tickets for a particular tour.

The Dingle Peninsula is perhaps one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland, and is especially rich in culture, heritage and folklore. While the movie, Ryan’s Daughter, brought the Dingle Peninsula to international attention, it only forms one part of the tour. Our qualified driver/guides will make mention of the movie; as well as many other items of interest such as the Blasket Islands, Inch Strand, and of course the peninsula’s only town, Dingle. Whilst the stunning scenery on this tour largely speaks for itself, we regret that on this occasion, less information was given to other topics, which you might have been more interested in. Though our drivers do state at the beginning of each tour that questions on relevant topics are most welcome.

The question of where to have lunch has come up from time to time. There are many valid reasons for choosing Dingle, including the one you have stated; and there are equally valid reasons for stopping at the Blasket Centre, as this option affords visitors to the opportunity to walk on the scenic Slea Head after lunch. However, as the town of Dingle is very popular with visitors, traffic levels at certain times of the day (especially lunchtime) can cause delays to buses. For this reason, our driver guides often have to make last-minute decisions to have lunch in the Blasket Centre to avoid such delays. In any event, many of our clients have responded favourable to the cafeteria at the visitor centre, owing to the wide-ranging menus and indeed the breath-taking views.

We do regret that you were disappointed on the occasion of your tour, but we do appreciate your comments, and will keep the lunch-stop for this tour under review. Thank you once again.

We picked this instead of the Ring of Kerry because the tour is by tour van instead of a mega bus (and one of us gets motion sick). The driver pointed out points of interest, was friendly and made sure we took pitstops where we could and wanted to. Several people on our tour didn't care to get out of the van but the rest of us saw what we could. We waited a few minutes by the basket islands to see the difference between when the fog is in and what you see when it's lifted. Great recommendations for lunch in Dingle.

This is the beautiful panoramic Ireland of movies and picture books. Our driver Dennis made timely insightful and informative commentary, pointed out key sights, ensured we had the opportunity and time to visit interesting local attractions, explained and played some local music, chose a good restaurant for lunch, kept a full bus load of people on time at each stop, and ultimately gave Ireland a personality. Dero’s was well organized: they picked us up at our hotel, loaded the bus quickly and got away for the tour on a timely basis.

Our driver, Michael, pointed out the sights on the Ring of Kerry and then left us alone to enjoy the beautiful scenery. I felt it was the perfect amount of stops and narration. We were fortunate to see a gorgeous rainbow. The sheep dog demonstrations was a highlight. I had no idea how many varieties of sheep grace the hills of Ireland.
