Don't let the outdoor speakers fool you...that is real live trad you're hearing...not a recording! We stopped by on a Saturday night and had to wait for a place to sit. After a while, we found a place to sit, but still weren't able to see the band playing. We made some friends with people traveling from Cork and had a great time discovering things we had in common. We also enjoyed sitting by a old local guy who was friends with the band that was playing.

Sometime later in the evening, though, there was a kind of musical duel going on, as the thump-thump-thump of the nightclub started up. So it was trad in one ear, and thumping bass in the other. That was a our signal to head back to the hotel. Good craic, though. Definitely check it out!

Taxi driver recommend this pub to us.

When we arrived we were the only people there.

At 9 there was a trad music session, the place started to fill up a little, just a really nice crowd, Band were great, they played till 11 in the front.

Half an hour later a rock band started to play in the back, they were excellent and great entertainment. We stayed till half one, the bouncers ordered us a taxi, opened the doors, bar man remembered our order. Great pub, nice crowd and nice welcoming atmosphere.

Only thing was could you please put some bleach down the toilet, the smell of wee is nasty.

After spending just one night out here I honestly did not want to leave. The vibe was brilliant..you cant always just sit with people you dont know and get on great. Staff were lovely. Had an amazing night with a fantastic performance from j90. Definitely going back.

I've been to this place 5 times in the past 4 months. It's my favorite place for Traditional Irish music, Which is what I like. The Irish music is early, so you can enjoy it and still get back to your hotel at a decent hour. Towards the end of the Irish music, you'll be surprised to see some very snazzy dressed younger people coming in for the disco that starts later. Packs them in early for the Irish, and packs them in later for the disco: what more could you want?!

A midweek November search for live irish music on a visit to Killarney led to Sheehan's - and what a find it was. Great pub feel, great beer, and most importantly, great irish music. Do not miss this place.
