Visited this restaurant on a Saturday night, had booked as advised by the local tourist office. Arrived at 7pm and our table was ready. There was 8 of us. The restaurant was very busy. Excellent menu and service was very good. The seafood platter is definitely worth trying, wonderful selection of seafood and beautifully cooked and presented - Oysters, Tiger prawns, calamari, mussels, salmon, monkfish, scallops. The potatoes au gratin were also delicious. Service was prompt and staff were very pleasant. Would definitely revisit this restaurant again. But be aware it is not cheap.

Saturday night of course is busy in a place like this so we were advised to book. We did but still ended up waiting over a half hour for our table. The lounge area was extremely busy with groups waiting for their tables. Long story short the front of house lady was fabulous but nearly everything else was a big let down. We had starters of brushetta & mushrooms. They were ok but a crazy price. €9.20 for brushetta??

They were out of most of the specials which of course is understandable when a place is busy but we were not told by our older waitress until we were placing the order. Personally I ordered the sirloin steak medium to well cooked and it came to the table rare!! At €25.50!!!! I asked for it to be taken back to the kitchen & it reappeared a few minutes later much the same (I will add I did not finish it) minus the veg & pots that were on the plate. Waitress not happy at all when I asked for some as obviously she had taken mine back into the kitchen! She was not impressed with this & we were given the cold shoulder for the rest of the meal. After we had our desserts, I had a chocolate fondant which was fab, the waiting staff started spraying the empty tables around us. Very rude & quite unfair as it was not our fault we were there late as we had waited so long for our table to start with!

Overall will not be back. Looking at the other reviews on here I feel like we were at a different restaurant. Its extremely over-priced & just not worth it. The vegetable and potato portions were tiny for a group of 4! Theres much better & more resonably priced places in Killarney (Back to Hannigans I think!)

We had an excellent meal in Lord Kenmares on New Years eve. Despite being very busy the staff were friendly, courteous and could not have done more or made us feel more comfortable and welcome.

Located above Murphy's bar on college street in the town centre this restaurant caters well for groups & families. Sometimes it can be a bit loud for that reason but not particularly as loud as busy city restaurants. A great choice of food & wines. The seafood platter is great ( monkfish ,salmon , calamari, mussels, prawns, oysters). Good steaks too. The menu is not too extensive so you know everything is good & fresh.
Baileys cheesecake dessert with coffee sauce & popping candy was a highlight .
You know this restaurant is good because even out of the tourist season it's full every weekend. Not gourmet or Michelin star but certainly way above an average good restaurant. Really recommend, won't disappoint. Book in advance! Hope you find this helpful!
1 starter, 2x main courses, 1xdessert, 1 snipe of prosecco, 1 bottle of wine was €110.

We ate dinner here on New Year's Eve and really enjoyed the atmosphere and food at Lord Kenmares. It appeared to us that this place is a real local favourite, on that night at least - always a good sign in our book. We were greeted with a glass of champagne, party hats, crackers and a plate of homemade bread while we ordered. Great choice for a set menu. Really friendly, local staff. Nice selection of wines at very reasonable prices and a full bar if you like a pint with your dinner. Food was traditional we had the steak and corn fed chicken, baileys cheesecake (one of the best ever - gingerbread base and no slacking on the baileys). Our coffees were topped up on the house. We really enjoyed this meal and the atmosphere which was not stuffy in any way - we would also recommend the pub downstairs, Murphy's, there was a great atmosphere in there & a good traditional Irish band playing on the night.
