We were pretty tired by the time we finally had dinner having arrived in Ireland from Arizona that morning at 8:30 am. The food was good, service was fast and the local red ale quite good. Give it a try!
One of the great things about Ireland is that the pubs don't try to run you out the door as soon as you are done eating.

We arrived about 8 PM and stayed until about 10 PM. There was a live band that worked the room/crowd well. We had the leg of lamb. It was as good as any other I’ve tried.

If you are determined to dine at Kate Kearney's Cottage, don't show up before noon. Which makes you very hungry if you've hiked the Gap of Dunloe that morning and thought the restaurant would be open. I think it was serving alcohol (at the bar) before the dining room opened! We had to wait a long time for waitstaff to get our orders and then deliver our food to our table. BUT, it was good comfort food at reasonable prices, considering the good portions and the server checked on us after we got our food. Good vibe -- definitely a great meeting place for drinks and food. It had a kids' menu too. I recommend, but don't come too hungry unless you can wait.

We enjoyed it so much we went back the next night. Great food choices and great music for a taste of Ireland. Enjoyed the Guinness and gin drinks.

This place was recommended to us by our Air BNB hosts in Kilorglin; we were not disappointed. Food and drink was great; Irish much and dancing was provided that night and we also drove the Gap before we had dinner.
