Kate's Cottage, with it's history, is a stop worth taking. The food was great and some nights there is traditional music and dancing. Allows for you to be 'in the moment" and in the mood.

“Great Irish Experience”
Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

Our group was top here on a night they had Irish music and it was a delightful experience. They get a mixture of tourists and locals which makes it fun. The food was very good for pub food and the whole experience very reasonably priced.

A little out of the way but not hard to find or to get a taxi there. The staff are very friendly and will call a taxi if you need one.

I would rate this a definite "do" if you are in the Killarney area.

This was included in our CIE tour and was a fun evening mostly due to the entertainment. The food was ok but not remarkable.

“Wonderful”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

I have visited Kate's a few times and was there again this summer. This place is amazing with great views and fabulous hospitality from the staff. The food produced in this restaurant is excellent and very very good value. If you are in Kerry you must visit this place and if you do you will be hooked as we are to return again and again. A special thanks to all the staff who made our visits this summer so special hope to see you again next year.

“It's all about the view”
Reviewed August 14, 2013 via mobile

The food and beer is fine. The location in the gap is beautiful. Well worth sitting outside and taking it all in.

Not sure I'd bother in inclement weather though.
