“Good overnight stop”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

We stayed here for one night with friends from Oz as part of a trip round Ireland. The location was good for our purposes. The receptionist was pleasant & helpful. The room was a good size with a large comfy bed.
However next morning we could not have a shower as the water was cold. We were told it was a problem caused by Galway county council during work being carried out. After a long discussion with the duty manager we were given a 20 euro refund.
The breakfast was good although as it was very busy the buffet wasn't replenished fast enough.
Despite the few problems I would recommend this hotel especially for a stop over.

The clayton is in an excellent location to enjoy a few days at galway races. There is a great buzz ! This is a modern, comfortable hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. The festival atmosphere was really brilliant- to return after a day at the races to discover live music on the forecourt with extra bars and restaurants set up was fantastic. Will definitely do it again!!

Room Tip: Rooms seem to be well away from noisy public areas .

Stayed here for 3 nights on a Supervalu break and really enjoyed it. Great hotel. The staff are really nice and can't do enough for you. A bit out of town but 2 buses stop close by so no excuse. Look forward to our next stay!!!!

What can I say ,myself and my husband and our two childeren stayed here for 3 nights,I have to say the facilities were excellent. The room we had was amazing it was room 323 very big and spacious with a stunning bathroom with two sinks. The rooms are very clean well equipped with everything you need and also has A/C.The food was really lovely and there was a good vibe in the bar although the bar was busy the staff worked very well and never left anyone waiting and the service we received was excellent our waiter in the bar was mike he was a lovely young man and very friendly. My childeren really enjoyed the swimming pool and dont worry if you have childeren therevisca life guard on duty they also provided arm bands and tool for the childeren the pool was very clean.i would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in galway.also aisling in reservations is a lovely person to she was very helpful when we were booking to stay. Book this hotel and you won't be disappoint I'm not one for writing a review but this hotel certainly deserves one. Well done to the staff in the Clayton hotel and I have booked to go back in December !!!

Room Tip: Book this hotel single or with your family you won be disappointed !

Let me start by saying that I am extremely fussy I have travelled a lot and love my comfort decided to book this as our first break as we didn't have a honeymoon and we are recently married. The hotel was very easy to find, plenty of FREE parking, Great location had bus stop outside, a shopping centre with Dunnes and other little shops and a chemist. Check in went great girl at reception was very friendly and offered us an upgrade to the presidential suite we were shocked , we took the lift to the top floor and wow the room was amazing walkin shower, bathtub separate dining room with a hugh balcony, I counted it was 80 ft to get around it :) plenty of towels,2 Flatscreen tvs marble counters it was just amazing, we used the bar, restraunt and also room service all was 10 out of 10, the hotel is spotless and the staff are so friendly even breakfast had a great choice. also thanks for the bottle of bubbly we will def recommend your hotel and will def return :)

8 km from city center. Ok so there is a bus stop, it is still a 20-30 ride on a bus (each way!). This hotel ahs all the warmth of an airport. Yes you can sleep and yes they have food but that's it. We never got to see Galway (with a tour group). Room was small and OK but seriously I did not travel 4000 miles to sleep in an industrial park area.
