“Regular Guest - Always Return!”
Reviewed February 26, 2013 via mobile

Stay in the Clayton on business on a very regular basis. Location on the outskirts of the city, close to main trading centres is excellent.

Staff are always friendly and make you feel welcome. Food is of a high standard. Service in the bar for evening meals can be slow at busier times but otherwise very good.

Breakfast always very tasty and fresh with plenty of choice.

WIFI only available in public areas not in bedrooms. Gym facilities are poor.

Overall, I certainly rate the Clayton highly and definitely recommend a stay. I will return again for sure!

Dear exptrav1,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your stay in the Clayton Hotel. I really do appreciate your positive comments and your regular business and I do hope it won't be too long before you are back to stay again.
Can I just point out that since your last stay with us in January we have completed the roll out of WiFi across the entire hotel including all bedrooms. This is something that our guests had been looking for and we are delighted ourselves we can now deliver this service free of charge.
I hope you will find this facility beneficial.

Kind regards

Rory Fitzpatrick

We stayed at the Clayton Hotel on the 23rd and 24th February 2013 for our Anniversary - We have stayed here before with family and cannot recommend it enough.

From the moment we arrived, when we were upgraded to a Executive room, we had the best hotel experience.

Everything in the Hotel was immaculate. I could fault nothing. We ate in the restaurant and this was also excellent. We were also given a free meal and bottle of wine.

Finally, the Staff in the Hotel were exceptional - Friendly and extremely capable.

Thank you again for the wonderful experience and for making our Anniversary so special.

Also special thanks to Emer for sorting out the booking and for getting us such a lovely room.

It won’t be last time I stay with you ..thanks again.

The Clayton was very nice. Maybe I expected more based on all the great reviews. Beds were very comfy as mentioned. Lighting in the bathroom was awful. I realize we had a standard room, but if i were a big person, there's no way i'd fit in the narrow tub/shower. The breakfast buffet was very plentiful with something for everyone. Hotel bar had good food as well. It was about 10 mins from city center. Overall it was a good stay.

Would have stayed in the bed forever , lovely quiet room , cosy bed , good temperature control, did not have breakfast but bar food and service good , out near the racecourse ideal for the races :) despite the distance from the city centre I would stay there if visiting Galway again

From the moment we arrived till we left I was struck by the professionalism and warmth of the staff in the Clayton. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the hotel visit immensely. Food in restaurant and bar wonderful, pool area great and location convenient for Galway city. To be recommended...

We stayed for 3 nights last week and it was Fantastic. The staff, the food and the rooms were all 5star. We were staying in a superior suite and it was class. There was a balcony and the room was so spacious. During our meal in the hotel. Two waiters could not do enough for us. Oliver I think was one of them and he was so pleasant and helpful. I will be staying here again.
It is in a great location for sight seeing Galway. We drove into Galway city nearly everyday which it only a few minutes away. There is also a bus stop right across the road from the hotel which takes you to Eyre Square. And Briarhill Shopping centre is across the road for all the ladies in the morning!!! All round great stay. Thank you

Room Tip: Do upgrade. It is worth it!!!

Just back from a weekend away at the Clayton Hotel and would highly recommend this hotel. Our room on the fourth floor was very spacious and spotlessly clean. Hotel staff were very friendly/attentive and the food in the restaurant and in the bar was lovely! There was plenty of parking - underground car-park. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
