Description: Mc Donagh's have been tantalising the taste buds of both Visitor and Local for four generations. The Family knowledge of Fish and dedication to their customers has earned them the reputation of being one of Ireland's best Seafood's Houses. Mc Donagh's is divided into two sections: In the Seafood Restaurant you will find a great variety of fish dishes on our menu. From native Clarenbridge Oysters, Salmon, Crab, Scallops,Prawns, Hake, Lemon Sole, Plaice, Haddock, Wild Mussels and Ray. Smoked Salmon from Connemara and whatever else the Fisherman can get his hands on. A new addition to our menu is Irish Rib Eye Steak from Mc Geough's Butchers Oughterard Co. Galway. In our Fish & Chips Bar the fish is cooked to order, and you are guaranteed the freshest of Chips, as our potatoes are peeled and cut on the premises. Our Fish & Chips can be eaten on the premises or taken away, we also have outside seating during the summer months.

Spent one great night at this place with some friends : food was good, and the friendly staff helped us to find our way back to our hotel. Can't tell wether it's the best place for sea food in Galway, but it's certainly a place where i'll come back.

we were here last week with our children, we ordered fish and chips, sausage and chips and a chowder, the chowder was like a soup, no chunky fish and flavourless, it was accompanied by a tiny piece of brown bread so i asked for more, the fish was ok but nothing special, chips were nice,

the sausage and chips is overpriced, you'd get as good in supermacs and that's being honest,

it was v busy and staff were rushed, even so i think a smile and a thank you goes a long way, time to improve me thinks..

Forget supermacs, mc Donald's, Eddie Rockets etc, proper fish and chips here and more, gorgeous crispy batter, and not dripping in grease, mush peas is a must and the chips are proper thick cut. Little bit cramped and you may have to wait for a seat to become free but besides that, good value

We ate at McDonagh's last night. Instead of chips, I asked for extra mushy peas. The woman serving us laughed, and said she had never gotten that request before. I'm not sure why - mushy peas are awesome! How was the fish? It was good, not greasy, and a filling portion. Was it worth all of the hype? Probably not. Still, a solid meal. My entire family had fish and chips so I cannot comment on other menu items.
