As someone who used to really enjoy eating in Ard Bia, I feel compelled to write this review. I have always found the prices a little steep, but I felt that it was a great place to go for lunch in lovely surroundings, somewhere you would be sure to experience good, locally sourced food and friendly service. On my last visit, I was with a friend who was in Galway for the day. We were seated directly inside the door. There was an incredible draught and anyone passing the table bumped into my chair. Eventually we managed to order, after a 45 minute wait. Another 30 minutes later, our salads arrived. The lettuce was wilted and yellow. Tomatoes were not ripe. One salad was supposed to come with toasted baguette, but instead came with brown bread. When this was pointed out to our waiter, he took away the brown bread and it was replaced with one tiny, cold, hard piece of french bread. On leaving, we were asked if everything had bern ok, I replied that no, our meal had been terrible. The walpiter shrugged and returned my change. Needless to say, I won't be returning here.
