“Fun evening”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2010

I was very impressed. The evening was touristy, but a lot of fun. The food was good. The entertainers were very good. A harpist played before dinner and during the perfromance. The two actors told stories, sang, and recited poetry. They were very good. The performance gave a good introduction to Irish culture.

“Touristy good time”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2010

We were there with mostly American tourists, but enjoyed it anyway. The entertainers were dressed for the times and welcomed us with pleasant harp playing and a good, strong belt of mead to drink. They also offered non-alcoholic drinks for the tea totalers and kids. We were then escorted to the dining/entertainment area and sat at long tables with bench seating. On the tables were provided pitchers of red and white wine and water. We were served a salad, potato and leek soup (good) and then the main meal of chicken with green beans, and carrots. The chicken was tasty, but overcooked. All in all I'd say the food was good, but the dessert of apple pie was not good. The actors were talented and entertained us with poetry and songs. I would say it was worth doing, but definitely touristy fun.

“Educational as well as fun!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2009

This was really very nicely done. I have been to a "medieval" banquet in NJ, and that was kind of cheesy fun. This was not like that at all. It was very nicely done, well tied into the specific local region and the writers who lived, wrote and were inspired there. It complemented nicely the other things we did in the area, particularly Thoor Ballylee and the Coole estate. The banquet we went to was not sold out, but the actors still really gave it their all, and it was a nice, comfortable evening.
