Got a great deal through the Rewarding Times. The location is perfect for walking Galway city (and Salthill). The train station is just around the corner. The suite was an excellent size - lots of places to sit and read and to write. The room and the bathroom were spotlessly clean. The power in the shower was fantastic. The Hotel Meyrick have recently opened a new bar/bistro on the ground floor and we were very happy with our trips there. The hotel service is efficient - a little clinical at times. We had the set dinner the first night and we dined elsewhere the second night. We were very happy with our choice of white and red wine. However the food in general lacked flavour and seasoning ..... and the hot food was not served hot. The Head Chef needs to start sampling his own food. The breakfast is ok. The juices are not freshly squeezed. The breakfasts are pre-cooked. Just not our cup of tea. The staff waiting on tables were very friendly. I had one trip to the spa - the lovely girl attending to me had a head cold and I felt that she should not have been at work! This could be a great place to stay in Galway.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that does not face onto Eyre Square.

Dear Dublinmarie

Thank you for taking time to write this informative review. All feedback is important to us and is taken in constructive manner.

We are glad that you have enjoyed so many things about our hotel, such as our location, quality of the bed and high standard of the service. We appreciate all feedback from our guests as without it we are not aware where our guests think we need improvement. Regarding the breakfast we always offer different options if one wanted a freshly squeeze orange juice we would have provided it for you, also we offer a breakfast menu at your table which is freshly cooked to your liking.
Thank you for taking time to write this review and we hope you will visit us soon.
Kind Regards

Booked a standard double room for a weekend. Told the hotel ahead of time it was our first weekend away together and anything they could do to make our stay more enjoyable would be much appreciated.

Parked in front of the hotel. Porter insisted on carrying our bags upstairs, parked our car and gave us a quick run-down on the best eateries and pubs in Galway.

Upon opening our door, we realised we had been upgraded to a suite from a double room!

Ate in the hotel both nights. Food was delicious, bar staff were very friendly and genuine.

Couldn't recommend Hotel Meyrick highly enough!

I ate in the brasserie on Sunday night and it was amazing from start to finish. I had the pate to start and the burger for main. Both were really nice. Rachael and Stephen who were working behind the bar were both very friendly and made me feel very welcome. Will decently be back

We had the pleasure of staying in the Meyrick last week and it exceeded our expectations.
From the Valet parking to the receptionist at check in and all staff in between I must compliment management on a most helpful, courteous staff. Stephen the barman recently returned from Australia to Michelle in the Spa they were most pleasant people.
The only downside was the Restaurant, which in my opinion is not fit for purpose, fine for a breakfast room but not good enough for a restaurant in a fine hotel like the Meryick !!
regardless this aside we enjoyed our stay and will return.

Room Tip: The Suites on the 5th floor overlooking Eyre square are ver good

Excellent stay at the Meyrick. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was yummy and the room was gorgeous. You can't beat the location - right on Eyre Square. All round great hotel. A couple of suggestions to make it an even better experience - better hairdryers and a nespresso machine in the rooms perhaps. This hotel will not disappoint.

We stayed here for the first two nights on a tour of Ireland with McMahon's Pub from Warrenton VA. Very nice hotel and great, friendly staff. A nice introduction to the wonderful people of Ireland. Our room overlooked Eyre Square and hotel location excellent. Rooms very comfortable and food was wonderful esp. the traditional Irish breakfast both mornings. Tour bus driver and guide was Mike Nolan. You haven't seen Ireland if you haven't traveled with Mick! He is the BEST!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the square.
