We stayed here for the first two nights on a tour of Ireland with McMahon's Pub from Warrenton VA. Very nice hotel and great, friendly staff. A nice introduction to the wonderful people of Ireland. Our room overlooked Eyre Square and hotel location excellent. Rooms very comfortable and food was wonderful esp. the traditional Irish breakfast both mornings. Tour bus driver and guide was Mike Nolan. You haven't seen Ireland if you haven't traveled with Mick! He is the BEST!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the square.

Everything about this hotel exudes a sense of history. The old stairwells and elevators remind you of all of the other guests before you that have shared this wonderful hotel.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent and my stay could not have been better. The staff is pleasant and professional. They certainly know how to make you feel welcome and important.

Room Tip: Request a view of the park to make your stay complete. The life of the hotel is only improved by exp...

We stayed for 2 nights. It was a good 4 star break. The staff were very helpful (esp. Dave) some with great local knowledge.
We had a meal as part of our package but I was disappointed that it was from a special, cheaper menu, (there was an optional to pay a supplement for ALa Carte menu It was nonetheless very nice. All said, the hotel was nothing special but Galway city is so it is a great base to explore from.

We arrived without a booking but luckily were offered a lovely room with a king sized bed. Staff were always very helpful and car parking is by a valet service. This was good because the city was very busy with traffic nearly all the time and trying to find any parking would have been a nightmare. The hotel is well situated in the centre of the city and easy walking to many attractions. We had dinner in the hotel more than once and the food was lovely. Breakfast was a bit disappointing though, limited choice but it may suit some people. I ordered scrambled eggs but it was barely warm when it arrived. Rooms could do with extractor fans, some may have them but ours didn't but overall a pleasant stay and very comfortable beds. A classy hotel with a lovely fire in the lobby to have hot chocolate in front of!

We stayed on the three for two night deal recently which was excellent value ...the Hotel has a really nice feel to it with an ornate lobby, friendly and helpful staff and the whole place just works well.
Our standard room was just OK ..we had to ask for a fridge to be installed but this was provided without any fuss ...unfortunately the room was in a section which was built over a side street leading to the station and there was a disco right below us which was a bit noisy. The rooms were very warm at night even when we managed to turn the radiator off so completely closing the windows was not an option.
Breakfast menu was varied and the full Irish looked great ..again the breakfast staff were friendly and helpful at all times.
We will be back !

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms which stick out over the entrance to the station as these can be noisy at night...if...

Dear Mcallistern

Thank you for taking the time to write of your experience at the Hotel Meyrick, we at the Hotel Meyrick do take all our guest feedback in a constructive manner.
We currently are reviewing and updating our heating system, as at the moment we are constantly monitoring the heating system at our hotel but it is only regulated by the floor not by the room, so when guests are requesting heating to be turned on, unfortunately we have to turn it on in every room on that floor. Radiators can be turned off manually if it is needed also we do provide fans, as an air conditioner is not an option in a listed building.
We are glad to see that you enjoyed your stay over all with us at the Hotel Meyrick; we always aim to provide the best service to our guests. We are grateful for you kind marks on our service as it is important for us to relay feedback to the various departments in the Hotel and we shall be passing your kind marks to them all.

Thank you once again for your time and we look forward to see you again in the near future.

Great reservation experience - thanks Aoife! My request for twin room was confirmed and responded to without delay. Great welcome at reception - thanks Colleen. Car was valet parked and got lots of info where to go in Galway city. The hotel itself could do with an upgrade. Reception area, bar and restaurant are lovely however our room was in the "newer" wing of the hotel. The room was small and the walls are thin! However it was clean and good value for what we paid given the city centre location of the hotel. The breakfast was good and the gentleman who seemed to be managing the breakfast room was also great. I would definitely recommend for city centre location and brilliant staff, however i would recommend paying to get an upgraded room.

We only stayed at the Meyrick Galway for one night, on short notice, so we hadn’t done much homework on other options. The hotel is well situated about one street from city centre and is easy to find. The car park was full when we arrived so we had to park in an adjacent public car park which was very close but still not under cover and inconvenient as it was raining. Because we had to put up with the rack rate it was costly relative to the accommodation and services. The staff were helpful and polite in all areas especially the restaurant and the food was above average but probably above average on costs as well. The room was a good size, all the usual amenities except a fridge, comfortable bed and mid-sized bathroom. Everything was clean and tidy.
