I spent a great weekend in Galway with a large group friends. The hotel has a superb location, right in the centre of Galway and just around the corner from the bus and train station. I was really impressed with how they made everything so simple and hassle free. The group booking was straight forward, I got prompt replies to any queries I had and all the staff were really helpful and friendly. The hotel has warm and welcoming atmosphere and is definitely a place I would stay again.

This old but updated hotel is located in the center city and is very close to the stores and resturants. The staff was very friendly and helpful and they parked your car for a very value. The rooms were very nice and quiet and also had a nice view of the square. The breakfasts were outstanding. Great access to wonderful resturants and pubs at night. The street was full of activities. A good value for the money spent.

Room Tip: We were on the 5th floor and it was quiet. The view was very nice across the square.

Turned up in late Feb on a Saturday with no booking... 1 room left and they did mention it was a small room. Booked in for two nights and the receptionist kindly suggested that we could move rooms the following day.

1st room was tiny. smallest in the place i'd imagine but cosy none the less. Breakfast fab and relaxing. Took trip to the spa to check it out... Very impressed. Very romantic outdoor canadian hotbub which overlooks the harbour. Indoor jacuzzi and steam room also.

The room we moved to the following day was amazing. Overlooking Eyre Square and on the corner meaning there was room for a large couch and huge bathroom with shower and bath. Bathrobes and slippers in this room also. Complimentary water and bathroom products. High windows with fab view even though we were on the 2nd floor.

Only downside is that staff member let herself into the room without knocking and had caught me mid change of clothes!

Very romantic setting, bar was elegant and not overly expensive as anticipated. Obviously so central and if I return to Galway I will stay here again.

Note: there was 50% off on the Monday we were leaving for any spa treatments... so availed of that and had a great massage and facial. Recommended.

Room Tip: A room facing the square for sure

Made a last minute trip to Galway with a friend and decided to go with the Meyrick for location. It was a decision between this & The G and we can definitely say we'll be returning. It was amazing. From the last minute booking, to check in, the most entertaining bar manager, the food and the comfort of the rooms, the stay was so great.
The staff were the best I've met in a long time, the room was pretty average but I've heard since the front facing rooms are pretty impressive, and they've been renovating the upper floors so I'd say they'll be nice when completed. We used the Spa there also, and could not fault it.
I could go on about the two night stay in detail but it would all be positive. Definitely looking for the next opportunity to head West again & pay another visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a front view room or there are rooms recently renovated on the upper floors

I understand that rooms can vary here, but this hotel in the heart of Galway was convenient, clean, with lovely staff. We enjoyed an afternoon tea and a good stroll...access to good pubs later in the night, too!

I stayed at the Hotel Meyrick over St Patrick's weekend and was very impressed by the helpful staff and facilities available. The hotel made sure that, as we were a large group, our rooms were located on the same floor and they were spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was good, with a variety of buffet items and really good porridge made to order! We also ate in Fagan's bar and the Oyster grill and both were reasonably priced and suited purpose. The foyer are is very welcoming and it's a great central base for exploring Galway. The nightlife is only a stone's throw away! Perfect for a short break.

Room Tip: If you're bothered by street noise ask for a room at the back of the hotel.
