“Warm Home, Warm People”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

We had a fantastic bank holiday weekend getaway in Galway, complimented by our incredible stay at Liscarra House. Our room was clean, comfortable and incredibly spacious, fully furnished and decorated making it feel like home. The warmth of the house was only enhanced by the warmth of our hosts, Ethna and Brendan - such great people (and fantastic cooks!). Only wish we could have stayed longer! We will absolutely be back & will unquestionably stay here again.

Our time at Liscarra house was quite wonderful! The location was perfect, Ethna and Brendan were warm, friendly, knowledgeable and engaged with their guests. We were greeted at arrival with coffee and tea and lovely conversation. Breakfast was delicious! Our room was spacious and incredibly comfortable. The garden was in full bloom and gorgeous. My only disappointment was that we just didn't stay long enough!

Excellent, all you need. This is a great B and B, super spot in salthill. Rooms fine, owners very knowledgeable, generous and helpful. A credit to the locality. If you need to know anything about Galway, just ask the owners.

Unfortunately we only stayed a few days. Everything was excellent:the welcome;the room;the bed and the breakfasts. A few minutes walk from the sea, even the weather was good. A lovely walk into Galway City with its many pubs, bars and restaurants. Ethna and Brendon are the warmest of hosts. Will definitely stay longer on our next visit.

My wife booked us in for mybirthday, just to get the hell out for few days, location hits you straight away, it is not bang in the city center but you can walk to it in 30-ish mins, easly accesable by car without having to drive thru city center in and out, pratically on the promenade. 5 mins you can enjoy a pint if you want or get a cab so no hussle to park in town. Fab houses along the street anyway!!! Inside it is very classy, tidy, very elegant, i found a nice search for details scattered throughout the different rooms, crystals, oil paintings just show off themselves beautifully. Breakfast was spot on, well cooked and belive me when i say that there were used good ingredients and not tesco ones, the china tea set and plates were beautiful, the owners were the embodiment of politeness and openess you kinda expect from the west, just the time we set our foot in we were already asked if we wanted coffee or tea. Beautiful experience that we will be willing to repeat for sure in the future, it's nice after few disappointments gifted by top hotels to find someone who makes you leave with a smile and the desire of returning.
The fare was excellent too.
The only thing but it's really minor, bring your own shampoo.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay with ethan and brendan. On arrival we were shown to our spacious room with a comfortable bed, lots of storage and instant wifi. Then over a cup of tea with ethan we learnt about the locality. We enjoyed walking along the bay to galway city and as it was good weather we walked back savouring the sea air. Our breakfasts were fantastic, lots of choice including light fluffy pancakes served with warm maple syrup. A real treat and in a great location for exploring coast and country

Ethna and Brendan were wonderful. I stayed with them while my son was in hospital and they could not have looked after me better - I had a lovely sunny room, impeccably maintained, comfortable bed, attractively furnished, excellent breakfast, free wifi, easy parking and such hospitality..... They were both so kind to me, driving me to the hospital. bringing me home, printing off my flight tickets, making sure I only had to worry about my son. A wonderful stay with them and I cannot thank them enough. Very special people.

Room Tip: All the rooms I saw were special for some reason so there is no need to request any one in particula...
