My husband and I stayed for three nights, and after getting over the bare basics of the tiny room, the place grew on us! The star of the place is the owner who cooks great breakfasts and is connected to local tour guides. She actually arranged trip to cliffs for us and the driver picked us up and dropped us off at B&B. Location by promenade was exceptional and we enjoyed walking to city center - about 15 minutes as well as the other direction toward Salthill. One last comment about room - towels were wonderfully soft

Seven of us recently stayed overnight at the Lynburgh B & B. For some of us it was the second time we have stayed here.
The location across from the bay is just perfect for a relaxing stroll!

The bedrooms are basic but adequate in size, clean and very comfortable.

Breakfast allows choice and quantity ....very satisfying!

Teresa's hospitality was friendly and helpful

Good value

Would happily recommend Lynburgh to anyone visiting beautiful Galway!

Four of us (2 couples) stayed at the Lynburgh for 8 nights, using it as a base to tour the West of Ireland.
We found it very clean and, although basic in terms of facilities, very welcoming. Teresa the owner was helpful when we enquired about anything and the breakfasts she served were excellent, with a choice of 4 main breakfast options, which she didn't mind you mixing and matching. Orange juice, Tea, Coffee, Milk, Cereals, Toast and the wonderful brown bread were available as many times as you wanted them and she always asked if you wanted more anyway. Our room was equipped with a double bed and was ensuite, the only minor gripe was that the shower cubicle was a little small for us, but it didn't present too much of a problem once we'd worked out a "routine"!
We had a small TV which had several choices of channel, but as the purpose was to tour the area, we only really caught the news of an evening or morning anyway. There wasn't a clock radio alarm but these days mobile phones double up as alarms so no problem there either. There was limited wardrobe space but this is a B&B and not a Hotel so a lot of people are only carrying one bag or case and, again, we made do with the space available. If you're reading this Teresa, a couple of hooks on the back of the door to hang wet coats on and a small shelf in the bathroom might be a good idea!!
Overall though any gripes were small ones that seasoned travellers wouldn't be bothered about.
The location of the Lynburgh is on Whitestrand Rd, about 10-15 minutes walk from the Wolftone Bridge in Galway, and it overlooks the Bay and is a similar walk from Salthill in the opposite direction, where you will find several excellent restaurants (Roberto's being one!) and pubs. Galway city itself is full of both in and around the Quay St and Shop St paved area, our favourites being McDonaughs chippy and The Bunch of Grapes pub (say hello to to Tom & Mary for us!)
In short then, we would recommend the Lynburgh to anyone wanting to stay a night or a week discovering Galway.
