“What a Find - Excellent B&B”
Reviewed July 14, 2010

I stayed here for three nights last weekend and it really is an excellent B&B. The minute you walk in the door you get a sense that this is no ordinary B&B and that the owners really care about it and your stay. My room was so cosy and comfortable with lovely artwork on the walls, beautiful bedspread, bathroom (most important) beautifully tiled and super clean with a great shower. The place has a real sense of class about it, cool artwork, magazines on each stairwell for you to enjoy, the lovely lounge room where you can relax and help yourself (dangerous) to the very very tasty homemade flapjacks and brownies which are left out. The breakfasts were made to order and delicious, again tempting us with homemade brown and banana bread. The owners Russell and Emer were really friendly and welcoming. I can't say enough good things about this B&B and I definitely will be back!!

I've stayed in a few B&Bs in Galway and Kilcullen House is by far the best. I stayed here with my mother in a twin room and was surprised at the great value considering the location - just a few minutes walk to the main street, yet quiet enough to get a good night's sleep.
The house was immaculately clean (something I can't say for the other B&Bs I've stayed in) and beautifully decorated - no tacky knick-knacks gathering dust. There's a cosy sitting room with tea/coffee and homemade biscuits where you can relax and read the paper.
Our host Russell was more than helpful. As I already lived in Galway, I didn't need advice on things to see and do , but I had a look at the list of recommended bars, restaurants, etc. and they couldn't be more spot on. The owners' good taste obviously goes beyond interior decorating...
The bathroms were very new and clean. Great shower (very important!). The breakfast included a buffet on a par with any hotel. What more can I say? I'll be back...

This was my 4th stay there. Great location and friendly patrons brought me back. Rooms are continously improved and there is a comfortable lounge with tea, coffee and homemade cookies. Free WiFi and a great breakfast does the rest. It does not have a business centre but the lounge comes close.

The B&B is closed to the city center and it's very pleasant to enjoy the atmosphere of Galway. Emer and Russell are so lovely.
good Irish breakfast.

Stayed in this lovely B+B for two nights and was so happy with it. The owners were so helpful with everything, the tips given about pubs and places to eat were a big help, right on the money in terms of value and atmosphere. Loved the home made cookies in the afternoon, the smell alone around the house from the baking won me over right away! Breakfast was also great, a nice relaxing cup of coffee in their vistors room with the paper was just the cure after a few too many in the Crane bar the night before - a great pub for Irish music also. Will be back if I manage to get back to Ireland again!

I have spent the last four summers travelling around various parts of the world and this B&B was definitey up there with one of the best places I have stayed in. It is in an ideal location to Galway city as it is approx only a 3-5min walk from the main streets(and safe parking including what more could you want). It is evident that the rooms have been recently renovated which were extremely clean and in an excellent condition. Even though it is close to the main centre it is still far wnough away that you get a good nights sleep as it is on a quiet street. The owners were very helpful with anything we asked for. At breakfast when I asked for scramble eggs and beans, the lady went out of her way and went to the shop to buy the beans as she had run out. This in my own opinion goes away beyond her job description. Also the blueberry muffins on arrival give it a very warm, welcoming and homely touch.
