Reviewed January 16, 2010

We stayed here in Nov and our stay in this B+B very good. Warm room, good service, host friendly, room clean and value also very good. Large breakfast helped for trip away to Burren and Connemara, fruit and ˇ´frý´ˇ was good also!! Walk to city and all restuarant, bars took 5mins maximum. Owner said closing before Christmas holiday to renovate bathroom, would stay again and really recommend it.

This was easliy the most dissapointing B&B we stayed in over 2 weeks touring Ireland. The room was small, the bathroom tiny, and sadly the shower unit was not cleaned until I rinsed away the previous occupants stray pubes myself. The Water Bolier was in our room, so susbequently the room was too hot. Though I was asked exactly what time I wanted to eat my Irish Breakfast (the afternoon before) this info clearly wasn't passed to the kitchen as they made a point of telling me I hadn't stipulated what I wanted in advance.

We stayed here for one night and paid 80 euros which was a rip-off. The best thing about this place is its location - less than 5 mins walk from Galway city. But the room was very basic and the bed was dreadful - the most uncomfortable bed I ever slept in...I had to put a pillow under me to sleep. The bathroom needs updating, was tiny and the extractor on the ceiling was filthy. Our hairdryer didn't work and when we brought this to the staff attention that night, they said they would make a note of it for the morning but nothing was done the next morning. I think this place would be fine if they charged 40-50 euros per night but 80 is just too steep.

I drove from Dublin and stayed at this great B&B for a short stay in Galway and cannot fault this place. It is only a 5 min walk from the heart of Galway city and the rooms are spotlessly clean. Great to get safe parking so close to the city too. This B&B has a lovely arty feel to it, with beautiful pictures and prints on the walls. I thought the breakfast was delicious with a variety of fruit, cereal, cheese, yogurt etc as well as the yummy irish breakfast. The owners were really friendly and gave us great recommendations for local bars and restaurants. Lovely ambience, quiet and relaxing. I will definetely be returning to this B&B again as it would make a great base for sightseeing around connemara and the west.

It's just unforgivable. I had booked a room at the B&B over e-mail nearly six weeks in advance and confirmed it a few days before we arrived. I also notified the owner that we'd need late check-in (around 8pm) and was assured that it'd be no problem. So, at the end of the long day traveling, you can imagine our frustration when we arrived and was told that there had been a mix-up: they had given our room to someone else and there were no other vacancies.

Now, to their credit, the owners were very apologetic, and sent a second apology later that night over e-mail. And they did call a B&B down the road and secured a room for us there at the same rate. We did appreciate that, but at the end of the day, you simply can't make that mistake -- you simply can't give away someone's room. And we can't recommend this place.

Yes this reviewer is absolutely right and through a genuine mistake by us we gave their room to another couple. Luckily we spotted our mistake before the guests arrived and were able to arrange, in advance, accommodation in another B and B close by. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and would like to point out that a mistake such as this is extremely rare. Even so we are now doubling our efforts to make sure all our bookings are logged correctly.

I stayed in Kilcullen House for 3 nights in July 2009 and was very impressed!

The location is brilliant and is actually just a 5 - 10 minute walk to the town centre. This was great as other accomodation where we stayed on our way promised proximity but was actually much further away than promised.

The room was comfortable (if not all that spacious) and was kept clean thoughout our stay. No tea and coffee making facilities though if that matters to you! The towels were changed every day and the house was being cleaned almost constantly during the day and so it was very spick and span.

Breakfast was one of the great features of this B&B with a choice of cereals, fruit salad and yoghurt, plenty of toast and tea and a full Irish breakfast. Yummy and it made it worth the 35 euro each per night.

The worst point about the B&B is the car park which is accessed down an extremely narrow road. The car park itself leaves little room for manouvre so make sure you're good at reverse parking and 3 (or 20!!!) point turns if you want to park here!

I would definately use this B&B again when I return to Galway, It was the best accomodation we stayed in during our mini tour of Ireland by far.
