Owner description: For a great night out with a difference why not try a night at Galway Greyhound Stadium and we guarantee you a night at the Dogs in Galway is always a night to remember. The atmosphere, the food, the flutter, the craic and of course the top class racing - they all combine to make you want to come back again and again. Enjoy the fine dining of the Masters Restaurant combined with the excitement of the race night! Catered by Kudos, our restaurant provides excellent track side seating where you can enjoy all of the night's racing with tote service to your table. If you're not in the mood for a full restaurant meal we provide excellent fast food and snacks in our bars. Try the Barker's Bar for more informal packages or Stripes bar offering panoramic views of the race circuit.
Useful Information: Food available for purchase, Stairs / elevator

The food was average for €45 per head. We missed half the races because the person who was taking the bets was no were to be seen. When we complained we were told that there was no manegement around and the gent we talked to seemed to not care even though there was 10 of us seated. Not a pleasent experience.Would not go for a sit down meal there again

You'll have a great night out with friends here. You can pre book a table if you wish to eat before the racing starts but once it does, the atmosphere is electric. People just having the craic. No one really taking it seriously - they're all down another area of the track. Having a wager on the odd race is fun. Head into town to carry on the party afterwards - a short walk down College Road to the pubs on Eyre Square.

Bit of a sham really. The night we went must have been a GAA fundraiser or something but there were kids (& I mean under 12's) everywhere betting on the races while their parents stood by which was extremely disconcerting. Not a place to bring your kids. As a night out, well, there are races every ten minutes or so but it's all over so quickly & no one really pays attention anyway. The place is well maintained, modern & you're kept warm indoors but it's really just somewhere to go that is an alternative to drinking in the pub but honestly there are so many great pubs in Galway City that it's not worth the effort unless you have a gambling problem & are prepared to pay a tenner in to gamble all night. In that case you will enjoy it as you can bet on the other races on at meets around Ireland on the night as they're up on the tv screens too & are included in your race card. I say give this one a miss.

About a 10-15 minute walk from Eyre Square. Easily done. A small friendly stadium with good bar facilities although a few more public conveniences would be good for big match nites. Ulster beat them, by the way!

If you were looking for a good night out with a group I'd well recommend booking a meal here. The food is excellent and they come around to the table to take your bets. As far as I can remember the minimum was €2 for a bet. It was excellent craic and even though the group was a group of people who didn't know each other everyone had a brilliant time.
