A group of 10 girls (sisters, cousins & friends) travelled to Galway for a night away to celebrate a 30th Birthday. We got a really good deal for Saturday night (€78 each for B&B plus dinner). We booked 2 twin & 2 triple rooms. The rooms were spacious & comfortable. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room were much appreciated. We had an afternoon snack in the bar with a couple of beers while we watched the rugby. Then after a quick spruce up & change of clothes we met for dinner in the hotel restaurant. The food was fantastic for a set menu. The staff were extremely helpful & friendly. In fact when we decided to keep the leftover bread rolls to tuck into when we came back from our night out on the town then waiter brought us several pats of butter to go with them. A small but much appreciated touch. The restaurant also organised a cake for the birthday girl (chocolate biscuit - delicious). We went out in the city (approx €12 in a cab each way) had lots of fun & then came back to our comfy beds. We all came down to have the buffet breakfast the following morning (continental & "Full Irish" options available)....all in all a really good stay with very friendly, helpful staff. Free parking also a nice touch.

Spent one night in Galway-travelled from Wexford to collect our daughter and gear from college. Very spacious bedroom, extremely clean, well furnished and finished to a high standard. Nice bar food and very friendly waiter. Spent a nice hour in the spa the next morning-pity there is no jaccuzzi! will be back!

Room Tip: try hotel website-plenty of offers!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Bar food for lunch really good and value for money. A la carte menu in evening good, different menu for meal included on special deal, not up to same standard.
Didnt have time to use spa but hopefully will next visit.
Would recommend this hotel for people staying in galway, -within walking distance of shope etc.

I cant complain too much about the hotel itself. I must say the staff were friendly and we had one evening meal there which was beautiful and the breakfasts weren't bad either. The only thing I would say as the noise was brutal at night. The hotel is situated right on the Headford Rd which has constant traffic night and day. Why you would put a family room right next to the main road is beyond me. We didn'[t get a wink of sleep our whole trip so that was the real let down. Also it doesn't show it in the picture but the hotel is built on top of a petrol station and furniture shop which also just added to the noise level..
Wouldn't stay again purely for that reason.

Room Tip: Ask if they have any rooms away from the road.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your comments and please accept my apologies for the inconvenience of a poor nights rest . I totally understand the issues you have brought up and want to assure you that our property has a variety of family rooms at different locations all with excellent soundproofing and some more suited to a young family. We did not on this occasion allocate a suitable room for you and your family and I have highlighted this with the reservations team. I would welcome a follow up on this and can be contacted directly by e-mail: cian.landers@pillohotelgalway.com. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Yours Sincerely

Cian Landers

If you prefer large, modern hotels, the Pillo is for you. My husband and I were impressed with the comfort, cleanliness, decor and value of the Pillo. The free use of the computers in the business center and free parking was nice. We didn't eat breakfast there, so we can't comment on that. There are two coffee shops, Bankz and Arabica, in the nearby business park that are good options for breakfast if you choose not to eat at the hotel. The walk into town was a little longer than we expected but not a problem. The only negative things we experienced were no hand towel in the bathroom until our last night, and one small bar of soap for a three-night stay! However, we would definitely stay there again.
