Just a note of thanks to yourself for the planning of our event in the Aran last Saturday.
Everyone really enjoyed themselves and had nothing but praise for the hotel and staff.
In particular we would like to mention Jean who controlled the dining service, and Opu the floor manager.
The young man at the bar was Ryan and he gave very good service ,complemented by all.
Hotel choice of DJ John Staunton was fantastic and he really excelled himself in music selection .
Those who stayed overnight all agreed on a lovely experience.

To Caitriona our event orgainiser kind wishes to yourself and please pass on our thanks to all concerned.

It was late afternoon when we arrived on a hot day only to find the ca rpark full of cars belonging to people going to the beach and it was chaos. Why no parking management like the hotel next door?
The room we booked was a sea view room which was part blocked by a wall.
The room was small and lacked character and the bed was terrible, the mattress had leaned away from the centre of the bed and staying in bed was a challenge.

I would not stay here again and think you are paying for location so the management feel little effort is needed in promoting standards.

Room Tip: Consider a better hotel

Nice hotel in a great location. Reception was fast friendly and efficient. Room was very dull with a small window looking out to the rear. Perhaps if you had a sea view room it would have been nicer. Though the room was dull and drab, the bed was comfortable and clean. Lovely bathroom with a big walk in shower ( no bath) . Tea and coffee making facilities were also supplied.Bar was busy with a good buzz and they served good bar food. Breakfast was good with lots of fruit etc. Dining room was very drab though and needs brightening up.

Overall I was pretty pleased with this hotel. The room was very clean and the staff were pleasant and the leisure facilities are excellent. I had read other people complaining that you have to pay for wifi, but actually you sign onto their wifi with your name and room number and they don't charge you if you are a guest as I clarified this with reception.

The location is brilliant and not to hard to get to if you follow the pointers to Salt Hill.

We also very much enjoyed the entertainment in the bar.

The only thing I would say is that getting near the toaster at breakfast is hard as it is very busy so they could do with investing in a second toaster. Also I spent we spent an evening in the bar and I could not believe the price of my bar tab at the end of the night - so it might be worth walking down into the city for a few drinks.

However I would definitely book this hotel again!

Our wedding was held there in June and Pauline the wedding co ordinator was absolutely unbelievable. Nothing was a problem anything we wanted we got. The food was amazing, sorbet and soup was outta this world and plenty of it to go around. Rooms were plush and comfortable. We were treated like royalty for the day. Couldn't rate this hotel highly enough. Thank you Pauline, raju, opu,Valerie and all the staff and management of the salthill hotel. Martin and Regina

rooms are lovely. we had a beautiful sea view room. it was spotless and the bed was very comfy... the only let down was breakfast. the food was congealed and obviously sitting there for ages. we were down for breakfast at 9 so we werent that late down to the breakfast room. it was the only area which needed improvement. maybe cook off less food at a time and replenish more often???

Room Tip: look for a seaview room!!!

Superb location, nice staff, although not in sufficient numbers in the bar in the evening, you can wait forever.
Nice choice for breakfast, including fresh fruits salad.
Room was fairly small but it was a single room with a comfortable superking bed, and no dirty comforter. Nice new spacious bathroom with large shower, big towels. Balcony but no access to it? Side view of the sea, overlooking a park. Quiet enough on 4th floor during the week, but noisy customers outside on the week-end, very little noise from the reception rooms. Carpet in need of a good shampoo, my socks said so.
Wifi homepage said 12 euros a day (!), reception said don't bother, it's only 6 euros, and my booking (and their website) said it's free so they had to wave the fees. Be careful about that.
Food in the bar was correct, fish and chips: fish excellent, chips dry, vegetarian curry very spicy and not really tasty, caesar salad ok.
Great pools and gym, new and well equipped, very clean. No spa (hence the three stars only).

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the upper floors in the new part of the hotel. Have ear plugs if you plan to stay...
