Lovely hotel with excellant views from certain rooms. Very comfortable rooms and excellant sleep. For mobile phone users the signal is bad out here but if you are not concerted with this lovely spot for a break. The bar food is good and reasonable.

Just back from a 3 day break in the Salthill Hotel. Went through Booking.com and only cost €175 for 3 nights B&B for 2 adults. Hotel is spotless, staff are very friendly (a little less so in the leisure centre). The room was very comfortable, warm, with a huge bed and nice and quiet. TV/Wi-Fi were excellent. We did have a slight issue with television noise from the next room at 12.30am, but a quick call to reception and it was dealt with immediately.
The hotel bar area was very quiet, but that is to be expected given the time of year. The pool/leisure area has everything. Only gripe here would be that the changing rooms were very cold and other guests/members failed to use the lockers provided meaning that clothes were left out on every bench.
Overall, it is a lovely hotel. It was my 1st time staying here but it will certainly be my preferred place to stay when next in Galway

Really enjoyed staying here, the staff were so friendly. The room was great value and the breakfast was lovely too. The hotel itself has excellent facilities, the room was well appointed and a really nice shower was also a feature.

Room Tip: Facing the sea is a lovely view!

I booked the hotel on line. I was very impressed with the whole weekend from start to finish. We were received with two lovely friendly receptionists on arrival. Our room was ready at three o clock when we arrived. It was a lovely big warm room on the third floor. It was great that the heat could be controlled from the room, as at times I found it too warm but was able to turn it down, well done. The breakfast was super as was our evening meal. We were very impressed with the leisure centre, the two pools and the big jacuzzi, it was fab. Well done to all the staff, receptionists, cleaning, bar and restaurant, all very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: I requested a quite room, we stayed in 311 and it was nice and quite, no noise on the floor at night...

We went here for drinks the Sunday afternoon before Christmas at 3pm and were greeted on the steps outside, entering the bar, by a floor of fag butts, overflowing ashtrays ..full of rain and butts and empty bottles on the tables from the night before. The window at the side of the door was shattered but still intact.I pointed out the filth of the outside to a barman ..who in my eyes should have checked this upon opening..and he went off with his dustpan and brush.
We asked if there was a Christmas dinner menu but were told no...two days before Xmas...no Christmas dinner menu!!! so we had the bar menu...the wings were wings with a dip..mine came covered in chilli sauce..swimming more like and the dip at the side..my burger when I lifted it off the slab of bread it was on had a lettuce leaf with balsamic vinegar on it!!!on a burger...chips were rank...cooked in filthy oil..dry and horrible. The waitress was very good but nothing would bring us back here.My friend and her husband stayed here early last year and had some part of their van stolen from underneath and were told it wasn't the hotels responsibility.Iv heard this hotel is in trouble and if it keeps going as it is it will be gone quicker than expected

We recently had our wedding in the hotel over the Xmas period and just wanted to say how happy we were with how our day went. The staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for us, Pauline especially was brilliant to us.
For many of our guests it was their first time in the hotel and they especially commented on the food, friendliness of the staff, quality and value of the rooms and the whole atmosphere of the hotel, (the finger food in the residents bar was really appreciated!)
All in all we just want to say a big thank you to everyone in The Salthill Hotel who made our day so special.
